Cairns Beaches

The beautiful unspoiled Northern Beaches of Cairns Stretch for more than 26km .  Small seaside townships close to each other, they each have there own unique character and atmosphere. The palm tree lined beaches and calm waters makes them ideal for a relaxing holiday. The wonders of The Great Barrier Reef on one side and The Rainforest on the other. The Beaches provide a whole range of accommodation along with many wonderful attractions and BBQ facilities and have regular bus services.
On this Route you will find the suburb of Smithfield and one of the gateways to the village of Kuranda
 
Heading North From Cairns they are:

 

Machans Beach: Is the first beach heading North out of Cairns just a few kilometres.
 
Holloways Beach: Is the second Beach from Cairns with modern accommodation facilities and activities such as Canoeing, Fishing, Golfing, Hiking trails, Swimming pool Sailing, Shops, Horseback riding. Only a few minutes drive from the cairns airport.
Yorkey's Knob: 10 minutes drive from The Cairns Airport. This beach has 200 berth International marina that can shelter up to 80 boats.  Yorkey's also has its own boat club with bistro and breathtaking views of the Coral sea. It also has all the modern accommodation and facilities such as restaurants, shopping centre, water sports and other sporting activities along with a fantastic golf course. Also known as York Beach and Yorkeys' Beach.
Trinity Beach: Is a 15 minute drive from the Cairns International airport. Trinity has  modern accommodation from budget to luxury.  Facilities include beachfront restaurants, eateries, takeaways, TAB and Shopping Complex.  Also wave ski's, windsurfing, sailing, beach volleyball and boogie boards. squash courts a gym, tennis courts and lawn bowls club. 
 
Kewarra Beach: 20 minutes drive from the Cairns International airport. This beach has modern accommodation from budget to small luxury.
 
Clifton Beach:  20km North of The Cairns International airport and 40 km south of  Port Douglas. Clifton Village Shopping cent-re has a supermarket, chemist, liquor store, bait / tackle shop, post office, petrol, and a takeaway. This beach has all the modern accommodation from budget to luxury.
 
Palm Cove: 25 minute Drive from the Cairns International airport. At this beach you will find restaurants, bars eateries, boutiques gallery, fashion shop, golf course and a fabulous jetty great fishing. With all the modern facilities from budget to luxury resorts accommodation and a multitude of activities including water sports
