About Shute Harbour

Located 10kms east of Airlie Beach, at the eastern end of a bitumen road that twists and snakes around the base of Mt Rooper and through Conway National Park, Shute Harbour is the main port facility for the transfer of visitors to the Whitsunday Islands.

The port is one of the busiest small vessel facilities in Australia and a major base for bareboat and charter yacht activity. Water taxis and ferries operate daily services to the islands. A public boat ramp is also available, with limited trailer parking, for the launching of small private vessels.
