About Hinchinbrook

The Hinchinbrook region is just over an hour’s drive north of Townsville and is the southern gateway to the World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics rainforest.  

The main township is Ingham, slightly inland from the coast and home to a strong sugarcane farming industry. The town has a population of almost 5,000 of which more than half are of Italian descent.
