Kuranda Scenic Railway

The Kuranda Scenic Railway is an unforgettable experience. The railway, first built in 1882, is still noted as an extraordinary engineering feat in this day and age, as it literally cuts through the mountainside. With 15 handmade tunnels, and no less than 37 bridges, you'll climb through world heritage rainforest that takes you to captivating vistas such as Baron Gorge. You'll also coast past the sparkling cascade of Stoney Creek Falls, close enough to touch!

It was a well organised and very pleasurable trip for us and our two young grandchildren. Our coach driver was always prompt and a very friendly man who showed he loved the area and cared for his visitors.
