Learn to dive on some of the best dives sites on the Outer Great Barrier Reef, with excellent training facilities and first-class equipment.
The 4-Day PADI Learn to Dive course is perfect for those short on time but who still want enough experience and confidence underwater.
If you don't have the time to do a 5 day course or would prefer a land based Learn to Dive course then this course is the ideal option for you.
Please note: this option is a joint operation between 2 dive companies and the course is not entirely operated by MV - P Dive Cairns.
Day 1 and 2 are spent at our modern, purpose built training centre learning the theory and underwater skills of diving.
Days 3 and 4 are spent on one of TUSA Dives fast and modern day boats where you'll complete the 4 training dives required for your PADI Open Water certification. You'll return to your accommodation in Cairns each evening.
Note: This program is a product of joint operations of two different companies, therefore you will be working with different instructors throughout the course and will be with a different group of people for the Ocean training portion of the course.
Learn the basics of scuba diving, both in the classroom and the pool, at the purpose-built modern, diver training centre in the middle of Cairns City. You learn all about regulating your breathing, how much air is in the tanks and how long you can scuba for. All safety aspects of diving are covered to ensure safety both in and around the water.
There is also the option of attending Reef Teach, a two-hour marine biology presentation (minimal additional cost.) This informative presentation shows you a taste of what you will experience out on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
Depart Cairns for the Outer Great Barrier Reef and prepare to put your skills to the test in the real environment.
Experience the excitement as you complete your first three training dives throughout the day. Enjoy a buffet lunch on the boat. That evening, you will depart for Cairns and return to your accommodation.
The next day, you will complete your PADI certification with your fourth training dive. This is followed by two guided experience dives where you can enjoy your new skills and gain experience. Lunch is also provided on the boat. Divers will then return to Cairns, signifying the end of their course.
