Itinerary

Daintree Dreaming

You will be picked up from your holiday accommodation to travel along the beautiful coastal road the Great Barrier Reef Drive up north towards Port Douglas.

Your first stop will be at Cooya Beach which is an important fishing ground of the local Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people.

One of the Kubirri Warra brothers, Brandon or Linc, will take you on this fascinating cultural walk along the beach, their ancestral homeland.

You will learn about the 3 distinctive ecosystems- coastal reef, mangrove and beach.

The Aboriginal brothers will show you how to fish in a traditional way and they will also teach you how to catch good sized mud crabs and giant Daintree mussels.

Everything you will catch will be cooked up on the balcony of the Kubirri Warra brothers family home balcony for everyone to share accompanied with homemade damper.
