At morning tea time we sail away to another reef location for more snorkeling and paddleboarding.
Our yacht is a racing legend, being built for the America's Cup as Australia's 4th Challenger, with sail number KA4 and beating the competing nations to win the right to race against the American's at Newport Rhode Island.
Today, while she still holds the spirit of a racing yacht, modifications have been made to make it comfortable for guests on our 2 day 1 night Great Barrier Reef sailing tours, with features such as a shaded cockpit, downstairs lounge area, dining table and guest bathroom.
Meet your crew in Airlie Beach at Coral Sea Marina (formerly Abel Point Marina) where we will depart at 8.30am.
Enjoy morning tea of fruit and biscuits and crew commentary of the surrounding Whitsunday Islands, then before you know it, you will have arrived at your first destination, Tongue Bay on Whitsunday Island.
Using the tender, guests transfer in groups over to Whitehaven Beach, and then one of the crew will guide guests along the path to the Hill Inlet Lookout.
Here guests take in the spectacular view of Australia's number one beach, marvel at the shimmering swirling sands covered by crystal clear waters.
Don't forget to ask the guide to take pictures of you with this famous background.
You will then have time to explore the beach, before being welcomed back onboard with a delicious lunch.
Setting sail once again for the voyage to a new Great Barrier Reef snorkel location for the afternoon we anchor here for the night and enjoy the sunset
Snorkel equipment and lycra sun suits will be issued as the crew provide a snorkel briefing and instruction on the snorkelling site.
With temperatures rarely dropping lower than 21°C, this is a very comfortable snorkel location, with tropical fish and corals blanketing the ocean floor, the odd turtle and dolphin also can’t resist saying hello.
The crew will serve an afternoon fruit platter and aussie lamingtons.
After playing in the water for a few hours we freshen up for pre-dinner sunset drinks and snacks.
Once dinner is over its time to roll into our bunks for a good nights rest or if you prefer, stay up on deck and chat with your new ship mates.
Don't miss out on the stunning sunrise over the Great Barrier Reef as this is the perfect time to re-charge in the peace and quiet and maybe partake in a bit of deck yoga.
After breakfast its time for more paddle boarding and snorkelling the coral reefs.
At morning tea time we head off to another secluded bay for more snorkeling and or a beach walk.
After lunch we set the sails one last time and sail across the whitsunday Passage for our arrival into Airlie Beach around 4.00pm.
