A full-day Airlie Beach fly-cruise combining Hamilton Island, a scenic helicopter flight over Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet and Heart Reef, plus 2 hours at Reefworld on Hardy Reef with snorkelling, reef activities and lunch included.
Fly, cruise and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef in one unforgettable Whitsundays day.
This Airlie Beach fly-cruise combo is a high-value, full-day experience designed for travellers who want to see the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef from every angle in one seamless itinerary.
This experience combines cruising, flying and reef exploration into one carefully timed day. You’ll travel from Airlie Beach by catamaran, enjoy time on Hamilton Island, take a scenic helicopter flight across the Whitsunday Islands and Heart Reef, then spend time on the outer reef at Hardy Reef before cruising back.
Rather than choosing between a reef cruise or a scenic flight, this tour delivers both.
Your day begins with a morning cruise from Port of Airlie to Hamilton Island. This relaxed catamaran journey sets the pace for the day and allows you to enjoy the scenery through the Whitsunday Passage.
You will have approximately 1.5 hours on Hamilton Island to explore, relax, or enjoy a coffee before transferring to the helicopter terminal.
Depart Hamilton Island on a one-way scenic helicopter flight of approximately 30–35 minutes. The flight path takes in:
Whitehaven Beach
The Whitsunday Islands
The naturally occurring Heart Reef coral formation
Live pilot commentary adds context as you fly over some of Australia’s most photographed natural landmarks.
After landing at Reefworld, you’ll spend approximately two hours on the outer Great Barrier Reef at Hardy Reef.
Your time at Reefworld includes:
Snorkelling in clear coral-rich waters
Semi-submersible submarine tours
Underwater observatory viewing
Buffet lunch served on the pontoon
This interactive pontoon allows both swimmers and non-swimmers to experience the reef.
After your reef experience, board the Cruise Whitsundays catamaran for a scenic afternoon cruise back through the islands, arriving in Airlie Beach in the early evening.
True fly-cruise combination rather than a return flight
Covers multiple Whitsundays icons and the outer reef in one day
