A visitor to Port Douglas simply must-do the famous Breakfast with the Birds at the Wildlife Habitat which allows visitors to meet the birds and have a photo taken with them.
Served daily at the Curlew Cafe & Bar from 8am to 11am, with the last seating at 10.30am, is a fantastic breakfast buffet including fresh tropical fruits, cereals, freshly baked breads, pastries and a choice of hot foods such as bacon, sausages, hash browns and eggs plus fresh juices, iced water, tea and coffee.

After Breakfast with the Birds spend time in the Australian animal wildlife park (admission to the habitat is additional to breakfast) exploring at your own pace or join a guided tour (included in admission).

A rainbow collective of birds at the native Australian animal park the Wildlife Habitat begins your magical day.
From the intricate markings and vibrant colours of endemic finches, to the unique ‘Stork Walk’, part of the only park in the world where Black-Necked Storks are successfully bred, you’ll discover mesmerising wonder.
Meandering through the beauty of the woodland and wetland domains in this amazing sanctuary, you’ll also have the rare chance to meet a cute koala! And you’ll no doubt fall in love as you cuddle one during a photo op!
If creatures of a more mysterious nature are your thing, you’ll also see a reptile interaction presentation. With a collection of snakes, rare dragons and lizards, you’ll get an up close view and gain riveting knowledge of their habits!
Another special aspect of the park is its rare interactive environment, where visitors can get to know unique Australian animals up close and personal.
You’ll find cuddling a koala the kind of moment that becomes a lifetime memory, along with the exhilaration of hand-feeding kangaroos and wallabies.

On the rainforest walk’s stunning elevated walkways, you’ll encounter another riveting rarity, the towering cassowary. Found only in the Wet Tropics, this bird sports a superb rainbow-plume and grows to around 2m!

Only the Stork Tower is not accessible by wheelchair
