Chartering your own yacht for the day is not out of the question when travelling in large family groups or with groups of friends when visiting Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef as it makes the day just that much more special when the catering and itinerary is all planned according to your personal requests.
Our 16mt (52ft) private charter yacht in Cairns is available for corporate and conference groups from 25-35 passengers (dependant on requirements) making it quite comfortable and spacious as she sails across to a private, pristine part of the world famous Great Barrier Reef known as Pinnacle Reef, located just one kilometre from Green Island.
Our yacht is the only private charter boat to be permitted to moor in this location as it is an exclusively licenced dive site for our charter boat and you can be assured the coral reef below will be totally unspoilt and the marine life always in abundance due to the low impact of visitors to this reef.
Guests who wish to try and introductory scuba diver or those who are already a certified diver must pre-book dives once your private charter boat booking is confirmed.
All scuba divers must pass the Medical Questionnaire prior to being permitted to scuba dive.
Itinerary
1 Day Private Charter Yacht
Your private charter boat is based in Cairns and is a 16-metre sailing schooner with two mainsails and a jib (spinnaker) with a large wheel in the cockpit for steering.
The aft section of the boat has shade covers and in summer the forward deck also has a small shade canopy.
Journey to Pinnacle Reef, Great Barrier Reef
Leaving Cairns at 7.30 - 8.00am, sailing time to Pinnacle Reef is around two hours and you'll then have around 4.5 hours to experience the pristine reef that sits approximately one kilometre offshore from Green Island.
The charter yacht will return to Cairns at 5.00 - 5.15pm, dependant on the wind.
Please note: Guests must be able to get in and out of a dinghy should they wish to go across to Green Island and participate in other in water activities or see the crocodile feeding display at Marineland Melanesia.

Scuba Diving Restrictions
- Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some people from scuba diving.
- Participation is subject to a medical questionnaire completed on board with the tour operator
- Minimum age for scuba diving is 12 years.
- Flying after scuba diving: a wait of 12 hours is recommended after one dive, 18 hour after 2 dives and at least 24 hours after multiple dives, before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater.

We understand things may change, so we have made cancellations very easy.

Operators policy:
- Loss of deposit if tour cancelled by client after confirmation of date.
- 50% for any cancellation by client 7 days to 5 days prior to date of travel.
- 75% for any cancellation by client from 4 days prior to date of travel.
- 100% (No Refund) for any cancellations 3-1 day prior to date of travel.
- The company reserves the right to cancel / change boat or destination due to poor weather conditions or mechanical problems – If unable to make other arrangements a full refund given.
