About our Cairns Based Cruise Ship
Our cruise ship is 35 metres in length and hosts 42 guests, she is the ideal small ship for discovering the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and visiting small coves and reefs that other larger cruise ships cannot access.
Small enough to allow snorkelling directly from aft of the cruise ship, yet equipped with the facilities of a much larger vessel, your expedition style cruise with us will be truly memorable.
Refurbished in 2015, our Cairns based cruise ship is has 22 cabins featuring traditional maritime styling with wood-panelled walls.
Guests can choose between double and twin bedded cabins, each equipped with a private en-suite, air conditioning and ample storage space. All cabins feature large picture windows, allowing you to always have a view of the spectacular scenery across the Great Barrier Reef.
The cruise ship’s spacious lounge is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink from the cocktail bar. It also features a reference library and plasma screens.
The large Sun Deck is another popular place to relax or sunbathe, with comfortable deck chairs and teak furnishings.
As a special experience guests will enjoy the opportunity to dine al fresco under the stars on the Great Barrier Reef.
On our Great Barrier Reef tours we operate an open bridge policy, allowing guests to spend time with the Captain and his professional crew as we cruise along the Eastern seaboard of Australia.

DAY 1: CAIRNS AND SUDBURY CAY
Board at the Cairns Cruise Ship Terminal at 10:00am, and depart Trinity Inlet at 11am on our voyage to Sudbury Reef. We begin our first day of in-water activities and enjoy snorkeling, glass bottom boat tours, and optional Scuba diving.
We finish the day with sunset drinks ashore on a deserted sandy cay and get to know our ship’s Captain and our fellow cruising companions.
Settle into your cabin for your first night sleep and wake early to a magnificent sunrise over the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
DAY 2: HINCHINBROOK CHANNEL & DUNK ISLAND
Cruise the majestic Hinchinbrook Channel whilst enjoying a top deck breakfast in the sunshine. Look for wildlife such as pre-historic crocodiles and brilliant birds and butterflies during a mangrove tour in our expedition boats.
Stretch your legs on Dunk Island, with a guided hike up Mt Kootaloo or a beach walk. With the aid of your guides, you may spot some unique native Australian wildlife and the Ulysses butterflys that dominate this island.
DAY 3: NATHAN REEF AND COATES REEF
Explore Nathan Reef on a guided snorkel tour with our onboard Marine Biologists : this reef is teeming with abundant fish life, including clownfish and Maori Wrasse. Later, visit colourful Coates Reef – see plate corals and parrotfish during an optional SCUBA dive, or stay dry and view marine life from the comfort of the Glass Bottom Boat, with expert interpretation by your on-board marine biologist
DAY 4: FITZROY ISLAND - CAIRNS
Enjoy a rainforest walk or a hike to the top of Fitzroy Island to the lighthouse. Snorkel over fringing reef and swim with Green Sea Turtles, before learning all about them during a visit to the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre. Return to Cairns to at 1:30pm. During a brief turn-around in Cairns, you may enjoy a complimentary admission to the Cairns Museum. Reboard your ship at 4:00pm on your way to enjoy the northern Reef.
DAY 5: HISTORIC COOKTOWN AND THE REEF
Your expedition guides will show you all the historic locations of Cooktown, with buildings dating back to the 1870s. Visit the botanic gardens and the James Cook Museum to see original artefacts from the HMB Endeavour. Enjoy an afternoon snorkel and sunset drinks at Turtle Beach on world famous Lizard Island, and see giant trevally and tawny nurse sharks during an after dinner fish feed off the back deck of your Great Barrier Reef cruise ship.
DAY 6: LIZARD ISLAND AND THE RIBBON REEFS
Enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of Lizard Island. Join an optional guided historical hike to Cook’s Look in the early morning to survey the reef. Learn about the tragic fate of Mary Watson and snorkel from the beach over giant clam gardens. This afternoon visit the pristine Ribbon Reef #9 for snorkelling and scuba diving.
DAY 7: RIBBON REEFS
Spend a full day discovering the outer section of the Great Barrier Reef, with snorkelling, scuba diving, and marine biologist led tours of Ribbon Reef #3 and Escape Reef
.DAY 8: CAIRNS
Cruise back to Cairns and Disembark in Cairns at 8:00am.
