Your Fishing Adventure

You’ll sail out from Cairns Marina on a custom made vessel with a select group of 4. The comfy charter means plenty of catch for everyone! With each tour, the destination changes based on the skipper’s expertise and knowledge of where you’ll positively hook that dream fish! The inshore reef area surrounding Cairns offers a multitude of impressive bounty. And as you travel to each abundant fishing spot, you can relax with a BYO beer or beverage, and munch on a mouthwatering lunch of salads, meats and fresh local fruits. Every angler has a secret spot, and this friendly family owned charter is happy to share theirs with you.

Fishing Style

You might be a passionate angler who is true to their fishing method preference. Or you might be casting your first ever line. On this tour, experts can practice their skills and novices have a chance to maximize ability. Over the past few years, lure fishing has gained popularity with targeted species like mackrel. There’s a certain pride in getting the fish to take the lure. Bait fishing attracts prized catch like Trevally with movement, smell, taste and texture, and your guides are happy to rebait and rig your line for you. Bottom fishing is the oldest technique of casting a rod or hand-held line for fish near the ocean floor. This method could land you a Coral trout bigger than you imagined possible!

The Ultimate Catch

You’ll experience the thrill of casting your line and watching that exciting shadow approach your bait. With a lure, your catch will chase the bait, and with live bait, a whopper could simply chomp on your hook. With either method, you’ll find yourself joyfully preparing to reel in the catch of a lifetime. Trevally can reach up to a 170cm in length, and varies in pale meat to a healthy dark and oily fish. The sought after Nannygai is a fish you’ll find similar to snapper and Coral Trout, with a moist texture, and slightly sweet full flavour.  Your helpful host will gill and remove innards for you, with a detailed description on filleting and how best to cook your outstanding catch.

Seasonal Fish

You might be headed on holiday to Far North Queensland specifically to land your dream catch, and why not? The fishing here is legendary. Many anglers have a target species in mind, and some of these are seasonal due to government regulations. Coral reef fish, such as Emperor, Sweetlip and Coral trout has a shorter closure period that only lasts a few days between October 17th - 21st and November 15th - 19th. These small breaks are no reason to fret though, all the fish mentioned, along with Golden Trevally, Whiting, and Coral trout are in abundance during the cooler months of May to September onwards.
