On our epic 40 minute Cairns helicopter flight we fly you to the edge of the Australian continental shelf where the Coral Sea breaks along the outer edges of the vast Great Barrier Reef.

Wow the things you will see on this Cairns helicopter scenic flight will amaze you! In our 40 minutes of flying over the Great Barrier Reef it alllows us to explore more widely, watching for the incredible reef marinelife in this unspoilt natural paradise especially for whales between July to November!

This 40 minute helicopter flight departs Cairns General Aviation airport and tacks out from the mainland with views of Cairns and Trinity Inlet, passing False Cape where you can see the remnants of WW11 defences still in place, Mt Yarrabah, Mission Bay and Cape Grafton.

From there we strike out to the inner edge of the Great Barrier Reef and Green Island, a 6,000 year-old coral sand island that boats its own native rainforest eco-system.

Tracking to the north, we explore the western side of Arlington Reef, home to a diverse range of marine creatures - turtles, sharks and sting rays. We traverse the very edge of the reef pushing towards the edge of the Australian continental shelf where the water clarity is unsurpassed, and the ocena floor drops away to over 1,000 feet. 

Continuing north we'll circle Vlasoff Cay a tiny sand island in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef that reduces to only a few hundred square metres in size at high tide.

From Vlasoff Cay we head west, over Upolu Cay and back to Cairns taking in fantastic views of the Far North Queensland coastline framed by the lush rainforest-covered eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range behind Cairns city.

In order to receive a 100% refund - flight cancellations Zoom Helicopters must be notified a minimum of 48 hours in advance of scheduled departure date/time. Cancellations notified between 24 and 48 hours in advance of scheduled departure date/time, qualify for a 50% refund. If booking is cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled departure date/time – no refund will apply. If passengers are ‘no shows’ for a pick-up or flight, a 100% cancellation fee applies. If the flight is booked through a third-party website or agent, the third-party will be contacted and notified of applicable charges.
