Cairns premier Aboriginal Rock Art tour by Helicopter to Laura near Cape York in the Australian outback Departing Cairns we will fly over spectacular green, gold, red and rugged outback Queensland country on our way to meet an Aboriginal guide from the Kuku-yalanji tribe.

This Aboriginal art and cultural tour gives visitors the opportunity to experience some of Australia’s best rock art sites recognised by UNESCO as some of the best examples of indigenous rock art in the world along with a maginificent scenic helicopter flight from Cairns.

These ancient Aboriginal artworks are being preserved as our national treasure, our countries history and our crown jewels. These artworks feature paintings of the Quinkan spirits among a host of Australian native animals.

Listen as your indigenous Aboriginal guide tells the stories of their ancestors and about these ancient rock art paintings and about the land they are spiritually connected too.

Our outback helicopter scenic tours will highlight our connection to the land and you will learn about the plants that were used traditionally for bush tucker and medicinal purposes and to make weapons for hunting.

The Aboriginal indigenous tour guide will give an enchanting narrative of their peoples ways and culture through the stories that are told through ancient rock art.

This helicoptor flying tour from Cairns will take you to Magnificent Gallery off the Laura-Maytown Coach Road to see some magnificent rock art.

Aboriginal Rock Art Heli Tour From Cairns

For those that have an interest in Aboriginal rock art we have created our bespoke 1 day Cairns to Laura (Cape York Peninsula) rock art and helicopter scenic flight tour for a minimum number of 4 guests.

We have created this journey with Jarramali Rock Art Day Tours where a member of the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal clan will be your tour guide in the outback.

We will depart from the Cairns airport at 8.00am or from Port Douglas (different flight path) in a helicopter and take you across the lush green rainforests and then into the Queensland outback where red and yellow sandstone escarpment sculptures stand as statues against the skyline rising up from the landscape.

It’s here in this rugged country that you will gain an insight into the ancient and rich culture of the Kuku-yalanji Aboriginal people that have called this place home for millions of years!

Enjoy the scenic flight over winding rivers and rugged landscapes before landing on ancient sandstone escarpments.

Jaramalli rock art is home to some of the best Aboriginal Rock Art in Australia, and some of the most remarkable views of the Queensland Outback from the Jarramali Base Camp, Laura.

There are known to be hundreds of Quinkan Rock sites near Laura, and on our Cairns to Laura helicopter tour we take you to a pristine and culturally significant rock art site called 'Magnificent Gallery' that archaeologists predict is a 20,000-year-old outback museum.

This is an ancient gallery that is outstanding for its variety, quantity and quality, and is home to over 450 pieces of art.

Your knowledgeable Kuku-yalanji guide will walk you through the gallery and interpret the art as we go.

After the 1.5 hour rock art tour, enjoy a welcomed gourmet picnic lunch and glass of wine among eucalyptus trees that also provides panoramic views of the expansive gorge.

The scenic helicopter flight back to Cairns or Port Douglas provides exhilarating views of the tumbling waterfalls of the Daintree Rainforest and the stunning coastline of Cairns and Port Douglas.
