  • You’ll be able to explore a world of dolphins and sea-turtles, coral mountains and tropical reef fish, unsupervised from here on out with your Open Water Diver Certification! The Outer Great Barrier Reef awaits your new-found knowledge!
  • Once you’re an experienced Open Water Certified Diver, you may want to earn another notch in your weight-belt! More diving experience will enhance every diving experience, with an Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Certification!

If you've ever dreamed of exploring the undersea phenomena of colourful coral and exotic marine life, there is no better place than the world renowned diver’s heaven; the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

This course is a Certified PADI scuba diving license that enables you to roam the endless blue seas across the world!

Your scuba diving course begins in a welcoming classroom, with friendly experts ready to teach you all the lessons, skills and techniques needed to become a fully certified diver.

With some fascinating theory and videos in the morning, you’ll break for lunch, and return in the afternoon to practice your advancement in a specially designed swimming pool.

Day two consists of some more riveting lessons, and finalising your underwater pool skills. Moving on from Cairns in the following days, the class will then board a dive boat to the iconic Great Barrier Reef, where you’ll utilise your new knowledge among turquoise waters and stunning marine life. With expert tuition and supervision, you’ll feel like an experienced scuba diver in no time!

Your time on this modern dive boat includes a mouth-watering Aussie BBQ, with a live musical band. And best of all, after the completion of your scuba diving course, you'll be presented with your very own photo ID Padi certified scuba diver's card!

Day One and Two of your Open Water Diver Course

Welcome to the dive class! Here you'll receive a wonderous education on how to move weightlessly and breathe easily underwater!

To explore the captivating Outer Great Barrier Reef without restriction, you'll learn to be at one with your dive equipment, (tank, regulator, weight-belt) in a specially designed swimming pool.

You will learn extensive, yet fascinating theory taught to you by the best experienced scuba diving-instructor teachers.

With both a welcoming air-conditioned classroom and practice pool, you'll become familiar with clearing your mask for a greater view of the reef, and in no time, recognise important underwater hand signals for both safety and drawing attention to marine creatures!

Every question is answered here, and with a full education in safety and the best techniques, this course will both enhance your diving experience and insure you graduate a talented certified scuba diver.

Day Three and Four of your Open Water Dive Course

In the magnificent world of sea-turtles and rays, rainbow coral kingdoms and fish, you'll put your classroom skills to good use on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

From the back of your luxury vessel, you’ll first practice entry with the Giant Stride and Backwards Roll, as well as your 5 Point Descent.

These will soon feel natural to you, and practice makes perfect! You’ll also have the opportunity to fine-tune your buoyancy; amazing as it may sound, you'll learn to achieve an exact floating level, just by the amount of air in your lungs.

This will allow you to hover centimetres away from a Clown fish colony or giant clam. With your new-found knowledge, you’ll indulge in a supervised dive with an experienced instructor.

And upon certification your teacher will present you with a certified diver photo card. Your very own license to explore the seven seas unsupervised and educated!

Optional Day Five

Now that you've learned how to hover just inches from tropical fish, and glide flawlessly over bommies (coral mountains) you're invited to explore for the ocean for fun.

One option of Day 5 is three dives to explore the remarkable realms. Take off with a buddy on your own journey of discovery!

Another unique option on Day 5 is to extend your knowledge and gain another certification; your Adventure Diver card!

Submerged in majestic coral, you'll be lead to a sea-wall to participate in a Deep Dive, and then perfect your directional skills with an Underwater Navigation Dive.

Also choose one more activity from an elective list, with choices like Aware-Fish Identification or Videography.

You’ll fill out a questionnaire on all three electives, and once certified, earn another notch on your weight-belt!

The more experience you gain as a certified scuba diver, the more enhanced every Great Barrier Reef diving experience will be!

Optional Advanced Open Water Diver Course

Over two days of marine bliss, your new skills may vary according to your interest, but no less adventurous! Among learning how to use a compass, or navigate using kick-cycles and visual landmarks, you’ll be taught in air-conditioned comfort from the cabin of a luxury vessel.

With 5 dives on the magnificent Outer Great Barrier Reef, you’ll be taught the skills of a Deep Dive and Underwater Navigator, and choose three electives to complete your Advanced Open Water Diver Course. The electives, based on persona interest include;

AWARE-Fish Identification
Underwater Naturalist
Boat Diver
Peak Performance Buoyancy
Underwater Photography
Multilevel Diver
Search and Recovery Diver
Drift Diver
Underwater Videography
