Up to 16 divers and/or snorkelers can dive and snorkel the remote Coral Sea and Ribbon Reefs in the northern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef system looking for the opportunity to scuba dive with gams of sharks.

As this is a private charter shark diving expedition your group of divers will need to set aside 3 days and 3 nights for our expeditions to the world famous Holmes Reef to experience our famous Shark Diving tours.

Being a private charter tour we have greater flexibility to sail to wherever we wish to based on the weather conditions at time of travel.

One of our favourite places is a dive trip to the world famous Cod Hole to swim with the man sized family of Cod that live in this location. 

These friendly fish are here all year round and cannot get enough socialisation with the scuba divers. 

Scuba diving on these northern outer reef systems is normally excellent all year round with underwater visibility reaching 50 metres plus and rarely ever any less than 30 metres.

Being so remote and wild, very few of these reefs have ever been fully dived and we are always discovering new exciting locations to add to our dive charts for future visits.

We also offer shared liveaboard trips over 2 day 1 night (no shark diving) dive trip on Thetford or Moore Reefs.

Your Private Charter Dive Boat

Our Cairns based private charter boat is just like a floating hostel, built for long range expeditions with not too much luxury to speak of.

Her whole purpose is to take adventurers on the high seas to explore the depths of the Great Barrier Reef during the day and provide a comfortable space for them to flop into the bunks at night. 

At 20m she is a motor sailing schooner that accommodates a nice tight group of up to 16 scuba divers in multi share twin single bunk areas, semi-private twin single bunk cabins, and a 4-share single bunk cabin. She is the equivalent of a mutli-share hostel, just on water.

As the charter boat is a mono hull concave sailboat, the cabins are not overly spacious or very private; they were designed as spaces for resting and sleeping only, just like a racing yacht.

As we are on a timeline for our shark diving expeditions there is not much time for sleeping as there is so much to do and see not only in the day time but also at night time.

The common areas include a dining area and both covered and open decks.

There are USB and 240V AC outlets for charging cameras, and hot water in both separate Male and Female Toilet - Shower cubicles.

Our schooner is a comfortable private charter sailboat, well suited for adventurous scuba divers keen to spend some time on the Great Barrier Reef diving with sharks and other amazing marine life that we will encounter over the next few days.

We are certainly not a luxury dive boat but we do provide a totaly unique dive service with great attentive crew taking our geusts to visit spectacular dive locations on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Scuba Diving Restrictions

• Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some people from scuba diving.
• Participation is subject to a medical questionnaire completed on board with the tour operator
• Minimum age for scuba diving is 12 years.
• Flying after scuba diving: a wait of 12 hours is recommended after one dive, 18 hour after 2 dives and at least 24 hours after multiple dives, before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater.
