This Cape Tribulation day will take you on a journey of sheer scenic beauty. You’ll experience a combination of the most stunning ancient rainforest and pristine remote beaches.

Our Cape Tribulation day tour will transport you thru the Daintree Rainforest mountains and show you some of the most iconic and amazing sights across the Far North Queensland landscape.

This Cairns day tour is not just one of visual magnificence, but an unforgettable interactive experience too!

At the Wildlife Habitat, you’ll have the chance to meet some stunning and unique wildlife. You can take a selfie with a kangaroo, and even cuddle up to a koala!

You’ll then travel on to Cape Tribulation; a legendary sanctuary of lush jungle, balmy waters, and rare exploration. It’s here you’ll enjoy a café-style lunch, and swim in the ocean weather and season permitting.

You’ll likewise venture onto an elevated rainforest boardwalk to hear some fascinating facts about the 180 million year old world heritage rainforest you’re standing amidst.

You might even see some of the world’s rarest wildlife too in this magical habitat!

It’s an absolute given though, that you won’t miss the prehistoric Saltwater crocodiles on the dreamy streams of the Daintree River Cruise!

Port Douglas Wildlife Habitat

Winding around a mountain range, with the highway enveloped by the Great Barrier Reef the village of Port Douglas is home to your first adventure of the day, the Wildlife Habitat home to many species of native Australian animals.

Your friendly and informative guides here believe that any visit to a sanctuary is enriched when you can interact with the animals too!

You'll be introduced to Eddie the Emu, (his cousin is a 2m rare cassowary with a multi-coloured plume!) and perhaps you'll even have a chat with Nettie the naughty cockatoo!

Your experience will certainly be one of rich memories after feeding kangaroos in the stunning Savannah habitat, and there's even the unique opportunity to have your photo taken snuggling up to a cute koala!

Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest Tour

Departing from Port Douglas your day tour will continue on past rolling cane-fields and charming country towns, to the Daintree River barge and ferry.

After crossing the Daintree River your coach will climb a winding road, under a canopy of sun-speckled rainforest and this is where your ancient rainforest tour begins.

Cape Tribulation is renowned for its jaw-dropping beauty.

Shaped like a large basin, its sandy coves are surrounded by rainforest-covered mountains that drop into the sea.

It's also a colourful little village where you’ll indulge in a mouth-watering choice of tropical burgers, local fish and chips, or al dente pasta in a sumptuous cafe style lunch.

Daintree Rainforest Boardwalk and Alexandra Lookout

As you’re led on a guided walk during this part of the tour, you may be interested to know you've entered the oldest living rainforest known to man.

Through a beautiful boardwalk trail under an umbrella of branches, the Daintree Rainforest will appear as an emerald realm of otherworldly legend, with trees reaching up to 44m and majestic moths with a 27cm wingspan!

Some of the plants on your walk date back to the Jurassic era. From an up close, intricate ground view, you'll then be shuttled on to a breathtaking aerial vista.

The illustrious Alexandra Lookout boasts an expanse across the tapestry of Port Douglas, Shipwreck Bay, Black Rock and the Daintree River mouth, where the river meets the iconic Great Barrier Reef.

Daintree River Cruise - Spotting Crocodiles

The Daintree River Cruise will meander through silky waters with glistening rare butterflies and echoing birds, and past a shoreline of ancient phenomena.

You have truly found a prehistoric domain; as the Daintree Rainforest, and some of its surrounding plants are estimated at 180 million years old!

Just to give you an idea of how old this terrain is, you'll learn on your guided tour how dinosaurs became extinct only 65 million years ago!

Yet as you glide through the river, with rare mangroves, it will be a chance to see a living relic from a primeval era.

The Saltwater crocodile lounging on the shores before you haven't changed much since time began.

A little disappointed by the tour. The guide was really good, however felt too much time was spent on the bus and the lunch break. Lunch disappointing and Daintree cruise appeared rushed. Got back over an hour later than predicted.

This tour is excellent. From the moment of pick up (Amitty is absolutely fantastic!) to the places we visited and the memories we created. The whole process was easy. Amitty picked us up on time. Lunch was sorted on the bus and forwarded to The Beach House and was ready, cooked fresh, upon our arrival. Time spent at each location would have been better if there was in fact more hours in the day, but noone can control that! We even got to stop to get ice cream which was an unexpected bonus. The day was perfect. Thank you for such a great tour!

Response From Barrier Reef Australia

Hi Vasi, It is always great to hear our tours exceed expectation and rewarding to hear our staff are doing a great job. The Daintree & Cape Tribulation are a very important part of the region so we do try to show you as much as possible within daylight house and yes, the ice cream is always a nice surprise!
