Private Yacht Charter Great Barrier Reef

There is no need to hurry when you are on a fully crewed private charter yacht from 2 to 5 nights on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef in Australia. 

Your competent skipper and hostess will have everything in hand and will have you on your way very shortly after settling into the boats air-conditioned quarters on your first afternoon.

They will set the sails for your first snorkelling destination and then settle the yacht into a safe quite cove just in time for you to witness an amazing setting sun over the Great Barrier Reef.

Catering

It is always so nice to have someone else doing all the meal preparations when you are away on holidays with friends and family, and it is especially nice when they use locally grown fresh seasonal produce that you may not just be familiar with.  

Most diets can be catered for but due to the size of the charter boats galley and storage facilities that is a discussion we have when we charter the yacht. Additional fee may apply.

Sample 2 Day, 2 Night Private Charter Yacht Sailing Itinerary Whitsunday Islands

Day 1

Our special guests arrive at the yacht around 3.00pm for boarding and a boat briefing with the skipper and hostess.

We then motor out of the Port of Airlie and begin our cruise thru the turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef to our mooring for the first night under the clear starry skies above the Whitsunday Islands. 

Guests enjoy pre-dinner drinks as the crew prepares the nights meal.

The first night on the Great Barrier Reef is usually pretty exciting and we find guests like to stay up a little late chatting about the days sailing adventures that lay ahead.

Once the guests fall into bed we usually do not hear a peep from them as they are lulled into a deep sleep with the gentle motion of the catamaran on the ocean.

Day 2

It is always recommended you rise early to see the sun rising in the East over the Great Barrier Reef as this is a very peaceful surreal time.

The crew will already be in the galley getting the tea and coffee and preparing your continental breakfast.

We then head off to Whitehaven Beach to spend some time exploring the beach and swimming in the beautiful ocean.

We have a smorgasboard luncheon all prepared for when you come back to the boat and when everyone is satisfied we up anchor and head off to one of the 74 Islands of the Whitsundays to explore some stunning coral reefs where guests can do some snorkelling with the abundant marine life down below.

As the afternoon drifts in we head off to find another safe anchorage for the evening.

Day 3

This is a day when all guests are not quite themselves. They all say how they wish the private yacht charter would just last another week or more.

We have breakfast and jump back in the ocean for more snorkelling and swimming.

Then after morning tea we set sail for Airlie Beach.

Please note: We are also able to relocate the boat to other ports for embarkation such as Hamilton Island, Daydream and Hayman Island for a small re-location fee

• Insurances: We highly recommend all guests have Travel Insurance.
• Vessel Permits: Whitsunday Getaway and Whitsunday Pearl hold all required national, state, and local permits for commercial operations, and are members of the Whitsunday Charter Boat Industry Association. Permit restrictions: Fishing is not permitted, as both vessels operate within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Green Zones and do not travel to the outer reef.

• Soft-sided carry-on bag only (no hard cases or large suitcases).
• Comfortable clothing, swimwear, light sweater.
• Hat, sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen.

• One reusable water bottle each, ideally non-metal, as metal bottles can chip or damage the decks if dropped
• Footwear, please bring only open-toed shoes (flip-flops, thongs, or slides). No closed shoes, runners, or boots as they will get wet.
• Luggage Policy: To make your experience smooth and comfortable, we recommend packing light. Storage on board is limited, and travelling light helps everyone keep the vessel tidy and relaxed. There are no excess luggage storage facilities on any vessels or at the marina. Guests are kindly asked to pre-arrange luggage storage for the duration of their trip and to pack lightly in a soft-sided bag. Luggage storage: The Travel Shop, 344 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach, anytime between 9 am and 6 pm to drop your bags at our secure luggage store for $10.

• Children must be supervised by their guardians at all times. Children under 4 years must bring their own life jackets, which may be required to be worn at all times on deck at the skipper’s discretion.
• The minimum child age is 12 months.
• Snorkelling equipment is not available for children.
