We will be some of the first humans amongst the peace and serenity of the Daintree Rainforest and our first excursion for the morning will be a boat cruise on the mighty Daintree River where you will see crocodiles in the wild.
The Daintree River is home to some very old and very famous crocodiles with names like Scarface that immediately lets you know you are in dangerous waters.
As you cruise silently along its just like being in Jurassic Park, a bird lovers paradise with Egrets, grey herons, sunbirds, kingfishers and lots of other magnificent bird species, snakes and lizards and colourful butterflies flitting about the river banks.
Keep your eyes open along the way as there may be the chance you will see our gorgeous and highly endangered giant Cassowary bird, a Forest Dragon or two and the gorgeous Buff Breasted Paradise Kingfisher as we travel through their natural habitat in the Daintree Rainforest.
Next up we will be Zip-Lining and Jungle Surfing through the canopy of the ancient Daintree Rainforest located near Cape Tribulation.
Learning about the rainforest’s history along with the biology and ecology of its inhabitants we will explore the lush green World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest from a bird’s eye view.
Zip-line between six platforms at varying levels of the rainforest including the canopy layer, which is the primary and most dense layer in the rainforest.

You will travel a little further north to explore the rainforest via a zip-line with Jungle Surfing between six platforms.
Forget trekking on rainforest paths, zip-lining to each platform will provide you with different views of the varying layers of the rainforest.
Guided by enthusiastic tree huggers you will travel 5 to 19.5 metres above the ground, high up in amongst the tree tops through the Canopy layer, known as the primary layer of the rainforest.
This is where the forest is most dense and fascinating to observe.
Your guides will present you with information about the rainforest’s long history as well as interesting facts about the flora a fauna around you.
This area of the Daintree Rainforest is home to a family of the rare Bennett's Tree Kangaroos which are only found in the rainforest between Cooktown and the Daintree National Park.
They are commonly seen along the zip-line circuit, so while travelling through the tree tops you may be able to get closer sighting of these rare marsupials, possibly even at eye to eye level.
However, there are also many birds, butterflies and reptiles that can be seen in this part of the rainforest.
There are six tree platforms which vary from between 5 to 19.5 metres high off the ground.
Each of the platforms are set amongst the different layers of the rainforest eco system which you will learn more about from your guide who takes you through the whole Jungle Surfing journey.
The views are simply amazing from the varying elevation levels. Not only do you see views of the rainforest from a bird’s eye view, but there are spectacular scenes out to the Great Barrier Reef!

7.15am - 8.00am: Drive north through historic sugar cane country to the Daintree River
8.15am - 9.15am: Bruce Belchers Daintree River Cruise, searching for Saltwater Crocodiles.
9.45am - 10.30am: Guided interpretive rainforest walk; Learn about the unique flora and fauna of the rainforest.
10.30am - 11.00am Drive to Cape Tribulation, visiting one of the many beaches along the way.
11.10am - 1.10pm: Jungle Surfing Canopy Tour.
OR
11.10am - 1.10pm: Spend 2-hours exploring the beaches and safe rainforest waterholes surrounding Cape Tribulation.
1.20pm - 2.20pm: Heritage Lodge for Lunch. With optional swim afterwards
2.30pm - 2.45pm: Visit Floravilla for a Bio-Dynamic Ice-Cream, choice of 26 flavours.
2.50pm - 3.00pm: Visit the Alexandra Range Lookout, offering views over the Coral Sea.
3.30pm - 5.15pm: Drive through historic sugar cane country on your return to Palm Cove/Port Douglas/Mossman.
