We are proud to be offering a 3 day 3 night liveaboard scuba dive trip from Townsville including diving at the SS Yongala wreck site and the central section of the Great Barrier Reef off Townsville. On our dive tours you will see some of the most spectacular remote coral reefs and marine life.
We depart for our scuba dive tour from Townsville on a Friday evening around 10.00pm to begin steaming to our first safe anchorage for the evening.
Guests wake up to the amazing scenery of the sun coming up over the spectacular Great Barrier Reef before getting into the water before breakfast just to have their first look at what hides down below.
Over the next 3 days you will be bonding with your fellow ship mates and exploring the depths of the coral shelves of Australia’s famous Great Barrier Reef just off Townsville.
The main event is the dive time we will spend exploring the world re-known SS Yongala wreck dive, a dive that has consistently been voted as Australia’s number 1 wreck dive and a must not miss dive trip from Townsville.

From Townsville the central section of Australia’s World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef offers some of the best spots for diving and snorkelling.
Each morning our dive crew will select the best reef sites to visit on the day based on current weather conditions.
Peacock Bommie at Davies Reef rises from depths of over 30m up to 5m from the surface.
Schools of fusiliers, fairy basslets and snappers explode around you, as larger pelagic fish cruise past. Waft away clouds of glassfish to uncover pipefish, cleaner shrimp, and count the number of coral cod.
Vic’s Patches on Keeper Reef or Fish Bowl offers tantalising swim-throughs that see beams of light revealing delicate Nudibranch, camouflaged frogfish, giant puffer fish and wide-eyed cave dwellers peeking up through the dark.
The North Face of Wheeler’s Reef offers an action-packed drift dive for Advanced or training Adventure Divers to cruise at 20m past schools of Humphead parrotfish and huge Spanish mackerel, whilst spotting wobbegongs in the sand as the occasional grey reef shark watches on.
SS Yongala has been consistently voted Australia’s number one wreck dive. Be the first divers to descend on the wreck in the morning and witness giant trevallies, bull rays and Queensland gropers. There are also heaps of batfish, cod, bottle-nosed wedge fish and leopard sharks swimming among the wreck.
See all the things to see and things to do in Townsville and Magnetic Island.
