This 2-day tour is designed to get off the beaten track and show guests the hidden wonders of the island. This tour will take you to some of the most gorgeous lakes on the island, meet the unique short necked turtles at Lake Allom and bathe in the tannin waters of Lake Boomanjin, the largest perched lake in the world! Marvel at the coloured sands of The Pinnacles and drive through towering rainforest and eucalyptus bush see as you cruise along some of the islands less travelled tracks. This tour also features accommodation at Drop Bear’s Beach House for a more cosy night’s stay on the beach.
Pick ups are approximately 6.30 in Noosa and 9am from the Rainbow Beach Shell Service Station, once you meet your guide you’ll be shown a 25 minute Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service safety video that covers the basics of driving a 4WD on Fraser Island.
For Noosa departures you will drive along the beautiful Teewah and Rainbow Beach in Cooloola National Park on your way to and from Fraser Island passing by the famous Rainbow Coloured Sands and Double Island Point.
At around 11am you will arrive on Fraser Island and once checked into your rooms at Drop Bear’s Beach House it will be time for lunch. From 1.30pm you’ll be off to explore the islands lakes and beaches, go for a swim in Lake Birrabeen, with pure white silica sand and crystal clear waters there is no way you could resist taking a dip. Drop Bear Adventures will have you back by 6pm to freshen up while they prepare a classic Aussie BBQ for you to enjoy. See a Didgeridoo demonstration and get tips on how to master the art, beach fishing rods are available for your use.
The next morning you will be on the road at 7.30am to see more! Marvel at the coloured sands of The Pinnacles, bathe in the tannin waters of Lake Boomanjin, the largest perched lake in the world! Meet the unique short necked turtles at Lake Allom and drive through towering rainforest and eucalyptus bush on some of the islands less travelled tracks. Lunch will be served at 12.30m and at 2pm it’s back to the Mainland.
Drop Bear Adventures will have you back at Rainbow Beach for 3.30pm drop off at the Shell Service Station and in Noosa for a 6-6.30pm arrival at Drop Bear HQ and your Hostel.
