Departing 9am Daily from River Heads, Hervey Bay your Fraser Island adventure begins with the 50 minute ferry accross the Great Sandy Strait where you may spot dolphins, turtles or even a dugong!
On arrival, your tour guide will meet you at the resort's Jetty for a short briefing before your Fraser Island 4WD tour begins!
Basin Lake - first stop is a walk to beautiful Basin Lake along sand tracks - one of Fraser Island's unique perched lakes with crystal clean water.
Central Station - explore the historic heart of Fraser Island which was once a bustling logging camp until the late 1950's.
Wanggoolba Creek - home to to fish, turtles and eels Wanggoolba Creek is crystal clear freshwater creek surrounded by lush tropical rainforest.
Make sure to stop and check out the rare King Fern, not found anywhere else on Fraser Island.
Pile Valley - be dwarfed by these towering giants as you walk through the majestic giants of the Stinay tree forest.
Lake McKenzie - Located 100meters above sea level, Lake McKenzie is one of the well known and stunning freshwater lakes on Fraser Island.
Enjoy a refreshing afternoon swim before heading back to Wilderness Lodge for overnight accommodation.

If you like a little bit more of the choice of comfort then choose to stay in our hotel accommodation and enjoy a little bit more luxury of a private ensuite, large private deck, air-conditioning, flat screen television, 1 queen or 1 king single bed.
Hotel Single Room - 1 person in the room.
Hotel Triple Room - 3 people in the room & is only available for bookings of 3 people in 1 reservation.
Hotel Twin Room - 2 people in the room & is only available for bookings of 2 people in 1 reservation.

Our more modest lodge accommodation offers our guests 2 nights accommodation at the Wilderness Lodge in comfortable timber lodges set amongst gum trees and native bush.
Each lodge offers twin, double or quad share rooms with ceiling fans (heaters for winter), linen, towels and share bathroom facilities.
Laundry, iron and pay phone are also available.
Mingle with like minded travellers in the open lounge complete with tea & coffee making facilities, or enjoy a cold drink at the nearby Dingo Bar - a place you'll be sure to visit during your stay!
After breakfast it's an early start to explore Seventy-Five Mile Beach, one of the world's most amazing beach highways in Australia.
Take in the natural beauty of the wide white sandy beach, and keep an eye out for the local Dingoes along the drive.
Eli Creek - a great spot for a refreshing dip! Float down this fast-flowing freshwater creek - which pours out 80 megalitres of water daily to the seaside.
Maheno Shipwreck - one of Fraser Islands most iconic photo stops, this rusting shipwereck was a WWI Hospital Ship from NZ that washed ashore after a cyclone in 1935.
The Pinnacles Coloured Sands - Another great photo stop the coloured sand cliffs showcase 72 different colours from reds, yellows and oranges and is a signifigant place to the local Aboriginal Butchulla People.
Indian Head - located on the most northern point of the beach you will climb to the top of this rocky headland for spectacular views ... make sure to look out for sharks, rays and migrating humpback whales (Jul - Nov).
Champagne Pools - chill out in these bubbling ocean rock pools, you won't want to leave!

The 4WD tour returns to Kingfisher Bay Resort in the late afternoon.
Wind down and enjoy a relaxed dinner before perhaps enjoying a cold drink and evening fun at the famous Dingo Bar!
After breakfast enjoy a relaxed day visiting a few of Fraser Islands lesser well known beauty spots.
Lake Wabby - walk through the forest to beautiful emerald-green Wabby, Fraser Islands deepest lake and a favourite swimming hole.
It's so completely different to the rest of the island's lakes and a real favourite.
Hammerstone Sandblow - trek over one of Fraser's vast desert-like sand blows - no wonder it's the world's largest sand island - to the beach!
Eurong Beach Resort - for lunch we head to Eurong for their famous all-you-can-eat lunch buffet.
Lake Birrabeen - if you loved Lake McKenzie then Birrabeen will allure you with its sparkling clear waters and dazzling white beaches... you won't be able to resist a dip.
We think it's a great way to finish the tour!

After a comfort stop at Eurong Beach Resort you can either travel through to Rainbow Beach or return back to Kingfisher Bay Resort meet the 5.00pm ferry back to Hervey Bay, arriving at approximately 5.50pm... then we'll drop you straight to your Hervey Bay accommodation for some well earned rest!
Or if you are travelling through to Airlie Beach we can drop your off at the Hervey Bay Coach Terminal.
