Enjoy the Cooloola National Park tour on the way to or from the world`s largest sand island, Fraser Island. Take in the beautiful beach scenery Visit Noosa North Shore, 4WD along Teewah Beach, see Red Canyon and the 72 coloured sands along Rainbow Beach.
Day 1.) Arrive at Fraser Island
Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, turtles, sharks and whales.
We will set off by coach for the Great Barrier Reef to see the exotic sea life of the world’s largest reef. Visit the Mon Repos Turtle Research Centre in Bundaberg and see the world’s largest mammals - the mighty Humpback Whale. (seasonal July to September)
See migrating birds, turtles and coral, snorkel or dive and experience exactly what this place is famous for as you encounter colours and beauty unsurpassed anywhere in the world.
Pickups start from 5.45am on the Gold Coast, 7.15am in Brisbane and at 9.15am from Noosa then you’re off on tour of Cooloola National Park...
On arrival at Fraser Island, it’s time to explore!
A boardwalk is built along the banks of the creek for those who want to just take pictures and lunch is provided.
Later you can photograph the Maheno Shipwreck – a beautiful contrast between a pristine beach and a man-made structure.
Marvel at the Coloured Sands, see the myriad of colours on display, as natural leaching of oxides and vegetable matter stain each grain of sand over thousands of years.
Indian Head where dolphins, turtles, sharks and whales can be seen.
Check into your overnight accommodation at Eurong Resort and enjoy a restaurant dinner.
After dinner, take a guided walk along the beach or enjoy a few drinks at the Beach Bar.
After breakfast on day two you will depart the resort at 8.00am
With snow white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue fresh water, set in the middle of the rainforest, Lake Birrabeen is a tour highlight.
Less well known and harder to access than Lake McKenzie, Lake Birrabeen is the largest of the Blue Lakes and considered by locals and those in the know as the most beautiful lake on Fraser Island.
In the afternoon you will head back to Eurong Resort for a late lunch (buy your own lunch) and depart around 12.30 - 2.30pm to arrive at the Rainbow Beach Motel around 2.30pm.
Enjoy optional extra activities while staying at Rainbow Beach (dinner not included).
The one-night stay at the Rainbow Beach backpackers (or motel if in twin share) and transfers between Rainbow Beach and Gympie to meet the Great Barrier Reef Bus the next day means that guests can also enjoy optional surfing lessons or kayaking with dolphins at Rainbow Beach at great prices.
Please ask reception staff for extra activity options.
Note:- Lunch, breakfast and dinner are not included while at Rainbow Beach.
Rainbow Beach is a great place to enjoy the afternoon on day two, check out the spectacular coloured sands of the Rainbow Beach foreshore, enjoy a free tour to Carlo Sand blow (through the Backpackers) and take in some of the Worlds best coastal scenic views.
The relaxed life at the Rainbow Beach Backpackers is sure to keep you entertained or if you prefer, enjoy a quiet walk along the beach to wind down.
Buy your own breakfast this morning for the coach ride.
Today you’ll board the Premier Bus at 7.40am outside backpackers (Our Safaris company supplies the ticket) and arrive Puma Road House 9.40am.
Your four wheel drive Safaris Bus will depart at 9.45am and your Great Barrier Reef tour continues.
See the beautiful Queensland scenery go by as you sit in the comfortable Safari coaches which are all equipped with great entertainment systems so you can sit back and settle in.
Next up you will pay a visit to a local zoo where you can enjoy interacting with native Australian animals and see a croc feeding show, cuddle a koala and much more.
Later you will check into Kelly’s Beach Resort where you can enjoy the beautiful resort facilities in your comfortable ECO Villa.
Swim at the spectacular beaches – home to the resident turtle population and take part in your included guided Snorkel School and Fish Feeding Tour as well as a visit to MON REPOS to experience the amazing Turtle Conservation Centre.
Free time to relax around the resort or optional activities:
On day four you’ll get out for a full day on a Great Barrier Reef tour on the big, luxurious boat for the Lady Musgrave Island experience, if you’re there in whale season you can watch the mighty Humpback Whale in its natural habitat.
Either way, you’re likely to see Dolphins surfing on the bow of the boat and you can snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef until your heart’s content – quality equipment provided.
There’s a glass bottom boat viewing of the reef, fish, coral and turtles available too which is a great option for non-swimmers.
You’ll take a guided walk on Lady Musgrave Island and see birdlife in the forest of Pisonia trees and turtles during nesting seasons (November to February).
Feed reef fish by the thousands in crystal clear waters, take in the spectacular scenery of Lady Musgrave Island and Lagoon and try optional activities such as scuba diving and reef fishing available at an additional cost.
On your fifth and sadly last day of the tour you have free time to enjoy it how you wish, relax at the resort, go for a swim on the beach or enjoy a host of optional activities, including Segway tours, surfing lessons, tennis or take a tour of the Bundaberg Rum Factory, all available at an additional cost.
Our Safaris will stop in at Mamminos on the return trip to taste homemade ice-cream & farm fresh sugar cane (in season) before you disembark at the same morning stops, just in reverse.
You’ll reach Cooroy Train Station at about 4pm, the Big Pineapple around 4.40pm, Brisbane by 6.30pm and wrap up the journey with the final stop for those staying on the Gold Coast at 7.30pm.
