Fraser Island and Whale Experience

Our remote Fraser Island Tour departs the Hervey Bay marina and cruises the Great Sandy Strait along the pristine shores of Fraser Island.

Along the way we may just spot dolphins, turtles, dugongs, birds and dingoes whilst enjoying a light morning tea and the beautiful scenery.

Transfer to the western side of World Heritage listed Fraser Island on an amphibious watercraft designed to drive right up onto the beach ensuring guests disembark dry and comfortable.

Enjoy the crystal clear waters of Wathumba Creek with a range of exciting activities including snorkelling with turtles, kayaking, tubing or beach walks.

Following delicious buffet lunch served on the boat, the tour cruises to the picturesque location of Awinya or Bowarrady Creek on K'gari (Fraser Island).

Enjoy the amazing diverse natural surrounds whilst kayaking, swimming, snorkelling, walking, beach activities and other free water sports.

The friendly, experienced staff provide expert commentary throughout the tour as well as serving an delicious afternoon tea.

The tour concludes with a relaxing cruise back to the Hervey Bay Marina.

As an added bonus, during the Hervey Bay whale season, be on the lookout for Humpback whales and experience the thrill of getting up close and personal with these majestic creatures as they enjoy the calm clear waters off Fraser Island.

Be one of the few and very fortunate to experience an intimate, immersion whale experience that allows you to get closer to these creatures than ever before and swim with them in their own natural environment.

NB: During Whale Season (mid July – October) The Remote K'gari (Fraser Island) Tour itinerary changes to include whale watching. 

During this time the Remote Fraser Island and Whale Experience will visit only two of the three locations on K'gari Fraser Island (Wathumba, Bowarrady and / or Awinya Creeks) to ensure there is ample time to enjoy up close and personal encounters with humpback whales, and if possible allow guests the chance to swim with the whales as part of the new whale immersion experience.
