Enjoy a boat cruise to Marine World and a 10 minute scenic helicopter flight above the Great Barrier Reef direct from the Marine World heli pad.

Check In

Your day begins with an 8:15am check in at the Reef Magic Office at Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns. Transfers from your accommodation in Cairns or Cairns Northern Beaches can be organised at an additional cost. Here you can pre book any extra activities that you would like to include during your time at Marine World. From here you will board the vessel for a 9:00am departure from Cairns Marlin Jetty. 

Marine World

Enjoy a 90 minute scenic cruise to Marine World whilst onboard your luxury catamaran. You will be greeted with stunning views of the Great Barrier Reef as your vessel makes it way to a private outer reef location around 45km off the coast of the Cairns. At around 10:30am you will arrive at the Marine World pontoon, nestled upon the pristine eastern end of Moore Reef. Here you will enjoy a relaxing 5 hours at the reef to enjoy a range of wet & dry activities & your 10 minute reef scenic flight. Upon arrival to Marine World you will be greeted by friendly staff and provided with a list of activities and tours to choose from. Relax on a sun lounge on the sun deck, learn about the Great Barrier Reef whilst taking part in a marine biologist presentation, discover the underwater wonders of the reef at the Underwater Observatory or enjoy a tropical fish feeding led by an experience marine biologist. Snorkeling equipment, flotation devices and wet suits are provided so why not take a dip in Moore Reef and explore the many colourful reef, corals and abundance of marine life that call the Great Barrier Reef home. Enjoy a 30 minute open air Glass Bottom Tour that will have you marveling at the coral gardens, giant clams and schools of colourful tropical fish. Marine World is also home to a semi submersible nestled 1 metre below the water’s surface. Take a 30 minute guided tour and glide through the coral walls and gardens of Moore Reef. Morning Tea, Afternoon Tea and a full cold / hot buffet lunch is provided.

10 Minute Reef Scenic Flight

Your 10 minute scenic will depart from Marine World and departure times will be provided on the day. As you board your luxury helicopter, you will be greeted by your experienced Pilot who will provide in flight commentary and information throughout the flight. As you lift off you will be greeted by stunning views of Moore Reef and its fantastic swirls of colourful corals and unique reef formations. The aqua waters of the reef provide the perfect backdrop for a photo! As you ascend to 3,000 feet you will be blown away by the sheer size and vast beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest living organism. Heading north east, your flight will soon have you cruising above surrounding reef systems such as Elford Reef, Thetford Reef and Milln Reef. Have your camera in hand as your pilot points out Upolu Cay, Middle Cay and Michaelmas Cay. Throughout the flight keep your eyes peeled for turtles, reef sharks, dugongs, large tropical fish and if you are lucky, Humpback Whales can sometimes be spotted during the winter months. A truly unique experience that is worthy of the bucket list! 

Upgrade to Introductory or Certified Scuba Dive

With five hours at Marine World there is the opportunity to enjoy an Introductory or Certified Scuba Dive during your visit. Moore Reef provides world class diving opportunities that will have you exploring small caves, ledges and coral drop offs with drift, wall and channel dives on offer. Sites are chosen to suit weather conditions and the level of experience of participants on the day. All dives are professionally guided and your experienced instructors will help you spot for the abundance of marine life that call Moore Reef home. Introductory dives are performed in the sheltered “moon pool” onboard the Marine World pontoon. Introductory divers will then be guided through a shallow coral garden home to many tropical fish and Wallly, Marine World’s resident Maori Wrasse. In the right conditions, you may even get to experience the stunning Reef Magic wall! 

Upgrade to a Massage

For those really wanting to relax and unwind, there is a Massage Hut located onboard the Marine World pontoon.

Upgrade to a Helmet Diving Tour

Discover the underwater wonders of the Great Barrier Reef without getting your hair wet! The Helmet Diving Tour will have you equipped with a helmet that will allow you to breathe as normal whilst under water. Return to Cairns

Upon boarding your vessel, you will depart Marine World at 3:30pm for a 5:00pm arrival back to Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns. Return transfers to your accommodation in Cairns or Cairns Northern Beaches can be organised at an additional cost. 

Cruise Out & Fly Back Tour

Enjoy a boat cruise on a luxury catamaran to a Marine World, a private outer reef pontoon. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and an abundance of activities and tours before making your way back to Cairns in the best possible way! Your scenic helicopter flight will have you soaring above the islands, coral cays and reefs of the Great Barrier Reef before returning to Cairns. 

25 Minute Scenic Helicopter Flight

After enjoying a relaxing 5 hours at Marine World, you will board your luxury helicopter at the Marine World Platform at 3:10pm. After being strapped in safely, your experienced and informative Pilot will provide you with a head set for in flight commentary throughout the trip. As your aircraft ascends into the sky, the sheer size and vast beauty of the Great Barrier Reef will become apparent. Heading south west, your pilot will steer you above the many surrounding reef systems such as Elford Reef, Briggs Reef and the mighty Sudbury Reef, home to the white sand island of Sudbury Cay. The aqua blue waters and swirling reef formations below are absolutely mind blowing so have your camera ready. Continuing west, you will soon be greeted by stunning views of Fitzroy Island, a popular day trip destination from Cairns.   • Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some people from scuba diving and helmet diving/scuba doo.
  • Participation is subject to medical questionnaires completed on board with the tour operator.
  • Minimum age for scuba diving and helmet diving/scuba doo is 12 years.
  • Flying after diving: A wait of 12 hours is recommended but preferably 24 hours, if doing multiple dives, before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater.
