Your day begins with a 9.00am check in at the Quicksilver office at Reef Marina in Port Douglas.

From here you will board your luxury catamaran for a 10.00am departure to the outer Great Barrier Reef for a day of snorkeling and scuba diving. 

Your boat awaits

Departing from Port Douglas at 10.00am, you will enjoy a 90-minute boat cruise to your outer reef location. Once onboard complimentary tea and coffee are served with some biscuits. 

Take a seat outside and enjoy the views or relax inside in the air conditioning. Have your camera ready as the views of the coastal beaches and the aqua waters of the Great Barrier Reef are fantastic! 30 minutes following departure you can enjoy a Marine Biologist presentation that will provide you with information about the Great Barrier Reef’s ecosystem and marine life.

If you have never snorkelled before and you're feeling a bit nervous there is also a snorkelling demonstration following this presentation to show you how easy it is.

For those who have pre-booked Scuba diving, Snorkeling Adventure Tours or Ocean Walker you will take part in your briefing onboard. 

Agincourt Ribbon Reef 

You will arrive at our outer Great Barrier Reef destination at 11.30am. Agincourt Ribbon Reef is situated on the very edge of Australia’s Continental Shelf, around 72 kilometres from Port Douglas and directly opposite the World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation Rainforest and this, of course, means you will have pristine water clarity and visibility all year round.

Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch are served on the Outer Barrier Reef pontoon during the day. Lunch is a superb tropical buffet, which includes fresh prawns, pasta, meats salads and fruits. There is also a full bar facility where drinks can be purchased during the day.

Our suggestion is to do a semi-submersible submarine tour first and then have a look at the underwater observatory on the platform and get these activities completed while you are still dry.

All snorkelling equipment is provided on the platform and the crew will look after and assist you in choosing the right gear for you. The platform allows easy access to the water and flotation devices and ropes are available for the not so confident swimmers.

Adjacent to the Coral Sea trench, the surrounding ribbon reefs boast clear waters and pristine snorkelling conditions. When back onboard, be sure to experience the fish feeding demonstration. 

10-Minute Scenic Reef Helicopter Flight 

When you first checked in you will have been provided with the departure time of your scenic reef helicopter flight.

Upon boarding your luxury helicopter, you will be provided with a headset for in-flight commentary provided by your pilot.

Departing from the helipad moored at Agincourt Reef, soon your flight will take off, lifting you 500 feet above the sea. As you ascend above the stunning Agincourt Reef System, you will be blown away by the vast beauty and sheer size of the world’s largest living organism.

Your helicopter pilot will provide information on the different reef systems and marine life that call the region home. You will be rewarded with breathtaking views of swirling reef formations, opal blue reef lagoons, colourful coral gardens and if you are lucky, marine life.

After enjoying a day at Agincourt Ribbon Reef, you will board your helicopter flight at 2.45pm as you prepare to experience not just one, but two World Heritage-listed natural wonders from above, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

As your helicopter takes off from the helipad moored at the activities platform, you will soon be rewarded with breathtaking views of the mighty Great Barrier Reef. 

As you ascend into the sky, you soar directly above the point at which the reef meets the Coral Sea. Marvel at the transcending deep blue waters of the Coral Sea into the aqua blues and reef formations of the Great Barrier Reef.

The Coral Sea is a popular spot for Bottlenose Dolphins and Humpback Whales during the winter months so keep your eyes peeled!

Heading south-west, you will soon be soaring above the unique ribbon reef formations of the Agincourt Reef system.

Continuing south-west towards the mainland you will soon spot the coastal beaches and surrounding rainforest topped mountain ranges of Cape Tribulation.

In the distance, you will spot an endless sight of towering rainforest canopies and the mountainous ranges of the Great Dividing Range! If a friend or family member is taking part in an introductory scuba dive, this is a great location to take a photo of them! Transfers

Only available for passengers who are able to negotiate 3 stairs and has collapsible wheelchair. The first step is approx. 300mm high.

Wheelchair taxis are available for pre booking

Pre-order Local Transport

You must arrange your own local transport in advance.

  • Children 3 years and older are legally required to occupy their own seat and therefore must pay the per seat price
  • Children 0-2 years travel FOC on the lap of a parent / guardian (max 1 per flight).

All cancellations must be in writing. Please note that all cancellations will incur an administration fee. Please see our terms and conditions for details prior to booking.

  • Cancellation notice of 48hours is required for a full refund claim and 24-48 hours, for a 50% refund claim. No refund applies if booking is cancelled inside 24 hours.
  • Weights of individual passengers and accompanying carryon luggage (max 5 kg) MUST be advised at time of booking. A weight variance greater than 10% may incur an additional fee. Maximum single seat payload of 130kg.
  • Transfers from Cairns, Northern Beaches (up to and including Palm Cove) & Port Douglas are included for travel date up to 31/03/2020 - ***If you are travelling from 01/04/2020 please note return transfers are an extra***
