Hamilton Island half day tours to snorkel and scuba dive around the beautiful fringing reefs of Hook Island. Choose from the morning tour at 8.30am or 1.00pm in the afternoon, both include morning or afternoon tea.
Our half day dive and snorkel tours from Hamilton Island are very popular and we have 2 custom designed boats to cater for the increased demand of a half day tour on the Great Barrier Reef from guests on the island.
We cruise for an hour to visit secluded locations within the northern section of the Whitsunday Islands to find the best fringing reefs for our guests to enjoy 2 hours of snorkelling and scuba diving.
The best dive locations will be selected on the day depending on the weather & tide conditions. Locations that are selected include Luncheon Bay or Manta Ray around Hook Island
We are a small boutique Great Barrier Reef tour operator taking smaller groups diving and snorkelling to areas on the reef with good visibility, coral and marine life.
Our boats are 19 metres and 24 metres and have hydraulically lowered dive and snorkel platforms for easy access into the water.
We limit our half day tours from Hamilton Island from 40- 60 guests on each tour boat.
Both of our half day reef tour boats feature lounge style seating over two decks, air conditioned interior over two decks, partially shaded deck area and fresh water hot and cold showers onboard, ensuring a premium cruising experience.
For our half day Hamilton Island dive and snorkel tours we cruise our way to the northern section of Hook Island to explore some fringing reefs. Should the conditions here not be favourable we may relocate to Blue Pearl Bay or Cateran Bay.
The visibility out at the reef changes every day dependent on the prevalent weather conditions.
During the peak summer months you can expect an average of 5-8m around the inner fringing reef.
The winter months typically see visibility well in excess of averages due to lower tidal ranges
The Whitsunday Island fringing inner reef tends to be slightly more colourful due to the nature of the soft coral that grows around these areas.
You will find numerous smaller reef-dwelling fish such as parrotfish, angelfish, batfish, damselfish and fusiliers. If you're lucky you might even get a visit from a turtle, ray or white tip reef shark whilst on one of our trips!
Our water temperatures sit between 22-28 degrees Celsius all year round, making for ideal coral conditions.
