Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours are set in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. This unique tour will take you gliding through the trees on a series of flying fox zip lines, with spectacular views through the canopy, over the treetops and out to the Great Barrier Reef.
Our Daintree Rainforest zip-line platforms range in height from 7-16m above the ground and showcase every level of the rainforest canopy. The zip-lines range from 37-95m and are travelled in pairs except for one solo flight - upside down if you dare - across a babbling rainforest creek.
The final span to the ground features side-by-side racing zip-lines with speeds over 45km/h!
The expert rainforest guides accompany you every step of the way controlling all of the zip-line equipment and flight so there's no experience or tuition necessary.
Throughout this adventure tour, our aerial guides tell the story of this World Heritage Listed rainforest.
Zip-lining is one of Queensland’s “must do” experiences, Jungle Surfing is suitable for all ages from three to 103 and operates in all-weather.
If you don’t have a car then you can join the full day zip line tour where you can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery on your journey up to the Daintree Rainforest.
All the family (even spanning a few generations), couples and groups of friends will love this fun, eco-friendly rainforest zip line adventure.
Children from the age of three can jungle surf! Everyone will love this flying fox adventure set in the stunning Daintree Rainforest.
Since there is no age limit even grandparents can join in on the fun.
When trying a new adrenaline adventure it’s natural to be a bit nervous, especially if you are a little worried about being so high up in the rainforest connected to trees that are hundreds of years old.
Your safety trained rainforest guides are highly experienced and will be with you every zip wire slide on the way.
On arrival at our gearing up and harnessing centre, you’ll be introduced to your team of high wire guides who’ll be taking you zip lining through the rainforest jungle.
Each guest will be fitted with a full body harness suit, helmet and then attached to safety lines.
A 350m walk through the rainforest leads to the Departure Lounge, where you’ll be given a safety briefing before leaving the forest floor to be hoisted up to zip line platform 1 by the Human Hamster Wheel Cable Lift.
On each platform, a guide will be there to greet you, connect you safely to the tree, and tell you the fascinating story of the Daintree Rainforest before sending you on your way to the next platform and the next guide.
From Platform 1 – 4, you will travel in pairs a few metres apart. The guides control your gentle flight, leaving you free to take photographs or admire the stunning views.
Platform 3 is cantilevered off the hillside and gives you some fantastic views of the Great Barrier Reef and canopy.
Platform 3 to 4, you’ll stop briefly at the highest point of the tour, 20 metres above Mason Creek.
If you visit during the green season, this creek will be a raging torrent of white water.
Platform 4 to 5, is the opportunity for thrill seekers to try something different, and if you choose to do so, you can flip yourself upside down and watch the ground beneath you speed past.
Don’t forget to give us your best Tarzan cry!
The final zip line span to the ground features side-by-side racing ziplines with speeds over 45km/h! Or there’s an option to take it slowly!
Then you have a short walk back to the gearing centre where you'll be taken back to the Jungle Adventure Centre to view your photos and then on to your Cape Tribulation accommodation if you’re staying in the local area.
Our rainforest canopy tour itself takes around 2 hours from pick-up to drop off, and you’ll spend over an hour up in the trees, with plenty of time on each platform to experience the rainforest environment.
This hir wire tour gives you a bird’s eye view of the Daintree Rainforest and all its forest friends that's, if you are not screaming!
The plant diversity and structural complexity found in the Daintree Rainforest is unrivaled on the Australian continent. The Daintree Rainforest is truly special and unique for flora and fauna and species diversity.
From each zip line platform you will enjoy fantastic views of the rainforest, over the canopy and out to the Great Barrier Reef.
You might even see the flitting electric blue flashes of the iconic Ulysses butterflies or a circling Sea Eagle, or if you’re lucky you might even spot a rare Bennett’s Tree Kangaroo that lives up in the trees at Jungle Surfing!
