Wildlife and nature experience with Skyrail gives you access to all three attractions at the Kuranda Rainforestation Nature Park, time in the Kuranda Village and a trip aboard the Skyrail gondola.

Handfeed the free roaming kangaroos and wallabies in the landscaped gardens, observe the endangered pre-historic giant cassowary bird, see wombats and lace monitor lizards, and view local snakes and other reptiles and cuddly koalas.

Local indigenous Pamagirri Aboriginal guides welcome you to join them on a journey to discover the Dreamtime and learn about the fascinating customs and ancient traditions. Experience the tropical rainforest from a totally unique perspective aboard an amphibious World War II Army Duck and visit a tropical fruit orchard with over 60 different species of exotic tropical fruit trees.

Spend some time in Kuranda village before boarding the Skyrail at the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Kuranda Terminal. This 7.5km Skyrail journey takes 30-40 minutes, so why not spend some time at the two stations enroute: Red Peak Station and Barron Falls Station.

Kuranda Nature Experience with Skyrail Cableway

At 8.50am you will travel to Kuranda Rainforestation Nature Park by coach via the scenic Kuranda Range to arrive at around 10.15am.

Your Kuranda tour includes:

  • A guided tour through the Koala & Wildlife Park 
  • See crocodiles, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary, and hand feed kangaroos and wallabies.
  • Have your photo taken cuddling a koala or holding a small crocodile (optional extra).
  • The Pamagirri Dreamtime Walk: Learn to throw a boomerang and watch spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing and watch the Pamagirri Dance Performance in the rainforest amphitheatre.
  • The Army Duck Rainforest Tour with a visit to the Tropical Fruit Orchard is also included: Experience the tropical rainforest from a totally unique perspective aboard an amphibious World War II Army Duck.

At 1pm you will depart the Kuranda Rainforestation Nature Park for your transfer into Kuranda Village.

On arrival to Kuranda Village, wander through the shops and markets offering local handicrafts, souvenirs and gifts.

A must  see is the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary with a 10% discount off your entry fee.

You will need to be at Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Kuranda Terminal by 3.45pm to present your itinerary to receive your ticket for the 4pm service.

This 7.5km Skyrail journey will see you gliding just metres above the rainforest canopy in comfortable six-person gondola cabins, the Skyrail journey immerses you in an intimate rainforest experience where you’ll see, hear, smell and become part of the tropical rainforest environment.

Your Coach will be at the Smithfield Skyrail Terminal to transfer you back to your accommodation.
