You’ve seen how it looks in a movie; an ethereal diver, gliding the fathoms of the endless blue and drifting across a mesmerising labyrinth of seabed and marine life.

And by choosing an introductory dive on the tropical shores of Magnetic Island, you’re about to star in your own feature!

The best part is, no experience is necessary to dive, as you’ll gain all the expert tuition you need on this 3 hour introductory dive course with incredible dive instructors.

You’ll spend around 40 minutes underwater, and after picking up on new found scuba skills, you’ll breathe easily and drift weightless below the surface. T

he sheer exhilaration of swimming through the crystal-clear waters here is matched by the breathtaking and abundant appearance of weird and wondrous marine life.

If you can kick and breathe, and have an adventurer’s soul, this is the perfect activity for you!

Explore Alma Bay on Magnetic Island

By this stage, you will have learned how to clear your mask and regulator, control buoyancy, and become one with your scuba equipment.

And here’s a little of what you can expect to do with it! If you’ve learned your scuba diving skills in a purpose built swimming pool, you’ll head to the stunning shores of Alma Bay.

If you’re already there, the adventure begins immediately! With your new found aptitude and talent, you’ll glide on an underwater journey through the crystal-clear and balmy waters.

Alma Bay is a perfect dive site for beginners due to gentle shallows and abundant marine life.

Your expert dive instructor will not only be with you every kick of the way.

Townsville and Magnetic Island

By choosing this particular  3 hour introductory dive course, you’ll not only gain scuba skills and discover a whole new extraordinary undersea world, but you’ll be doing it in paradise too!

You could opt to stay in Townsville, an ambient country down disguised as a city, and travel the scenic ferry over to Magnetic Island for your dive.

Or, you could live the island life with accommodation on stunning Magnetic Island. Both offer budget-friendly and opulent choices, with a laid-back tropical atmosphere.

One of the remarkable options of this island is the Koala Village at Bungalow Bay; the only resort in Australia with a wildlife park attached! Magnetic Island, or ‘Maggie’ to the locals is an array of beach coves set in a semi-circle around rainforest.

And whether you’re staying at Nelly, Horseshoe, Picnic or Alma bays, you’ll find it a short trip either on foot, or by regular bus route to your diving destination.

Practice Makes Perfect

The ocean is full of weird, wonderful and absolutely jaw-dropping species. Some divers head to the Great Barrier Reef for the extraordinary rainbow of reef fish, in the form of turquoise Parrots, vivid orange Clowns (Nemo), and buttery-yellow Angels.

Others venture to the Whitsundays especially to witness the migration of whales and dolphins. With rays, turtles, eels, dugong, porpoise and an almost unending display of species within magical coral kingdoms, scuba is a source.

Diving is a movement, an addiction, a way of life for some. And if your introductory dive sparks a new aquatic passion in you, you’re in the right place to become an expert.

There are both Open Water and Advanced diving courses waiting for you on Magnetic Island, and all gain you a license to dive with a buddy unsupervised through these oceanic realms across the seven seas!
