Luxury private charter yacht catering for 33 guests being looked after by 3 boat crew sailing from Port Douglas to a beautiful set of tropical islands called Low Isles, for a day of snorkelling the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
From Port Douglas, Low Isles lays just 15km (9.5 miles) offshore just 1.5 hours cruising time across the waters of the Great Barrier Reef of Australia.
The Low Isles are 2 combined four acre coral cays surrounded by 55 acres of fringing coral reef.
As these reefs are very close to the island lagoon we visit, it makes snorkelling easy and enjoyable for our guests.
The island we visit is a coral cay with a lighthouse, that has a lot of history and has been operating since 1878 with lighthouse families on the island.
Over the years technology has made the need for lighthouse keepers redundant however the accommodation has been home to scientists and researchers who have been collecting data about the Great Barrier Reef and its inhabitants for many years and sharing the research worldwide.
Living amongst the soft corals around Low Isles is a variety of tropical fish, molluscs, sea cucumbers and other marine animals.
Whilst snorkeling you will see brilliant blue, green and purple parrotfish, angelfish, damselfish, anemone fish or clownfish, trevally, rabbitfish, sweetlip, moon wrasse and fusilleers, just to name a few!
