A one day private yacht charter or a sunset yacht charter is the dream of most ocean loving people and there is no better place to think about chartering a sailing boat than on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

The Great Barrier Reef is known as the most pure body of water in the world and home to the largest species of marine life and the largest variety of hard and soft corals so if you are an underwater photographer or just a person who loves to snorkel about you will be constantly amazed at what you will see at every different location your sailing boat anchors at for the day or evening.

Private Day Charter - Low Islest Douglas

A 1 day yacht charters we can accommodate up to 12 guests. Spend the day snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.

We recommend taking our guests out to Low Isles which is about 15 kilometres east of the Port Douglas boat harbour.

This islands original lighthouse was  built in 1878 to help ships navigate the reef as this area was a well-known place for Beach De Mer fishermen and today the more modern lighthouse that takes pride of place here is still in operation but no longer manned by a light house-keeping family.

The accommodation here is now used by scientists and marine biologists as they study the ocean and its environment.

Guests can take a look around and visit the little museum that shows some artefacts from days gone by.

The snorkelling here is very nice with around 150 varieties of hard corals and 15 varieties of soft coral all of which attract differing marine animals. Low Isles is also very well known for its high population and sighting of sea turtles.
