A 3 day 2 night Whitsundays sailing holiday for 18–35s featuring snorkelling fringing reefs, Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet lookout, hands-on maxi yacht sailing, all meals, air-conditioned accommodation and a fun social atmosphere.
This Whitsundays sailing holiday is designed for travellers aged 18–35 who want a genuine sailing adventure with snorkelling, island exploration and a strong social vibe. It is a true liveaboard experience, spending two nights onboard while exploring different parts of the Whitsunday Islands rather than rushing between locations.
This three day, two night sailing holiday departs from Airlie Beach and explores the Whitsunday Islands aboard a fast, powerful maxi yacht. Over the course of the trip, guests live onboard, sail between islands, snorkel fringing coral reefs, walk to Hill Inlet lookout and relax at anchorages chosen based on weather and sea conditions.
The extended duration allows the crew to move with conditions, selecting the best snorkelling sites and sheltered bays rather than following a rigid schedule. Days are active and social, while evenings are relaxed, with meals shared onboard and time spent under the stars.
This tour balances adventure, comfort and social connection, without being a luxury cruise or a quiet retreat.
You will sail aboard an 83-foot British Defender maxi yacht, originally built for the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race and later refurbished for overnight sailing in the Whitsundays.

The yacht is fast, powerful and designed for hands-on sailing, offering a true ocean-going experience rather than a motorised cruise.
Snorkelling takes place at fringing reef locations around the Whitsunday Islands, selected daily based on visibility and conditions. These reefs rise close to the surface, making them ideal for snorkellers of varying experience levels.
Guests can expect to see colourful reef fish, coral gardens and marine life such as turtles, stingrays and large reef fish. Snorkelling equipment and basic instruction are provided, and crew are on hand to assist in the water.
Onboard activities include
• Hands-on sailing – hoisting sails and taking the helm
• Relaxing on deck between swims
• Social time at anchor with music and shared meals
A highlight of the tour is visiting world-famous Whitehaven Beach, known for its pure white silica sand and crystal-clear water. Guests join a guided bushwalk to Hill Inlet lookout, where the swirling white and turquoise sands create one of Australia’s most photographed natural views.
After the walk, there is time to relax on the beach, swim in the shallows and explore the shoreline.
This tour is social, friendly and designed for young travellers who enjoy meeting new people. Meals are a communal experience and a central part of life onboard.
All meals and snacks are freshly prepared onboard using seasonal produce.

Meet your crew at the Coral Sea Marina | Resort (formerly the Abell Point Marina) at 8 am for a headcount, to depart the marina at 8:30 am. Feeling energized? Help hoist the sails! Otherwise, sit back and relax as you float across the Whitsunday Passage to Whitsunday Island, finding anchorage at Tongue Bay.
Take a guided bush walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout to get that awesome photo of the world-famous Whitehaven Beach. After taking in those postcard views get amongst it and submerge your toes in the unique silica sand. Climb the driftwood tree, say hello to the local marine critters or try beachcombing for shells.
In the afternoon you’ll sail north to another island where you’ll anchor just before sunset. Enjoy a drink and pre-dinner snacks and be mesmerized by the golden hour as the sun sets over the Whitsundays. After dinner, grab a drink and get stuck into a conversation with new mates.
Early rise for breakfast, then kit up with snorkeling gear, ready to jump in over the fringing coral reefs. Stunning tropical fish and other marine life, a turtle if you’re lucky, will welcome you into their home as they swim, dart and go about their life. Time for morning tea before heading to another location for a swim, snorkel or a beach stop.
After lunch, it is time to set the sails once again and make way across the Whitsunday Passage. Arrive back into Airlie Beach at 4 pm. (Perfect time to get to your accommodation, refresh and meet your new friends out for an after party!).
All meals and snacks are included for the duration of your trip. Our crew freshly prepares each meal for you to enjoy using locally sourced, seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Usually served buffet style; you can choose to eat anywhere onboard. Meals are a great communal time to get to know your fellow travellers.
