In eight stunning acres of rainforest, woodland, wetland and savannah habitat, you’ll literally become part of the zoo!
This sprawling wildlife wonderland in the coastal town of Port Douglas is known as an animal immersion exhibit, which means the ultimate in wildlife interaction experiences!
While roaming the rainforest paths and elevated boardwalks, there’ll be ample opportunity to feed a kangaroo, cuddle a koala, and even pat a python! You can explore each unique landscape at your own pace or join a guided tour to learn about rare reptiles, cute wombats, ginormous crocodiles, and the majestic cassowary; a 2m rainbow-plumed bird found only in this part of the world!
As well as over 75 species of bird there are enchanting, once-in-a-lifetime adventures you can go on. So on top of your day of discovery, you could add other tours to view nocturnal creatures, share a table with winged wildlife at the famous Breakfast with the Birds, Lunch with Lorikeets or Picnic with the Parrots!

A rainbow collective of birds at the Wildlife Habitat begins your magical day. From the intricate markings and vibrant colours of endemic finches, to the unique ‘Stork Walk’, part of the only park in the world where Black-Necked Storks are successfully bred, you’ll discover mesmerizing wonder.
Meandering through the beauty of the woodland and wetland domains in this amazing sanctuary, you’ll also have the rare chance to meet a cute koala! And you’ll no doubt fall in love as you cuddle one during a photo op!
If creatures of a more mysterious nature are your thing, you’ll also see a reptile interaction presentation.
With a collection of snakes, rare dragons and lizards, you’ll get an up close view and gain riveting knowledge of their habits!
Native Australian wildlife here thrive in a natural habitat that is both eco-friendly, and heaven on the eyes. In the savannah habitat, you’ll discover wallabies and kangaroos roaming freely.
You’ll be invited to grab some ‘Roo Food’ and hand-feed these Australian legends their lunch! They’ll also be a chance for thrills and spills at the crocodile feeding display. Hear fascinating facts about the world’s last living dinosaur, and witness their magnificence from a close up (and safe!) view; namely the saltwater croc, who is known to grow almost 6m in these parts!
On the rainforest walk’s stunning elevated walkways, you’ll encounter another riveting rarity, the towering cassowary is a 2m bird with a superb rainbow-plume, and only found in the Wet Tropics!
Another special aspect of this Port Douglas wildlife park is its rare interactive environment, where visitors can get to know unique Australian animals up close and personal.
You’ll find cuddling a koala the kind of moment that becomes a lifetime memory, along with the exhilaration of hand-feeding kangaroos and wallabies. There’s also riveting animal presentations.
Watch in awe as saltwater crocodiles leap from the water in a feeding extravaganza, and you’ll find the chance to feed a turtle absolutely adorable!
You might have always found yourself nervous around reptiles, yet the passionate guides at this park are keen to show you that snakes are magnificent (and friendly) in so many ways, and they’ll even give you the opportunity to pat a python to prove it!
On top of your day of discovery, in this award-winning wildlife sanctuary that’s home to over 180 species of animals in an authentic setting, you could also add an incredible nocturnal tour at dusk to see some of the weird and wondrous creatures that live for the night, with the Wildnight Nocturnal Tour.

The Wildlife Habitat will be undertaking upgrades to provide a better park for the future. During the week of 9-13 March 2020 we will need to close large areas of the park and certain products will be unavailable due to the replacement of an aviary.
What will be open during 9-13 March 2020 – Reception - including amenities, Savannah Habitat (kangaroos, wallabies, emus, crocodiles, pelicans, wild birds) , Woodlands Habitat ( small birds, endangered finches, lizards), Nocturnal Habitat (owls, possums, scorpions, spinifex hopping mice, Gliders, frogs, snakes), limited free park presentations/ talks. Entry to the park will be an escorted mini tour via a secondary entrance point.
What will be closed during 9-13 March 2020 – private tours, Wildnight Habitat Nocturnal Tours, Breakfast With the Birds, Lunch with the Lorikeets, cafe access, some Koala photo days, access to Rainforest Habitat and access to Wetlands Habitat.

The majority of this park is wheelchair accessible, from entry, through various habitat walkways and elevated boardwalks.
Only the Stork Tower is not accessible by wheelchair.
