After being picked up from your Cairns accommodation take the Kuranda Scenic Railway to Kuranda, the village in the rainforest spend a little time looking around the markets and visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary.
You will be collected from Kuranda Village to be taken a short distance to Rainforestation Nature Park, here you will enjoy a full Australian style BBQ lunch, watch the indigenous Pamagirri Aboriginal dancers perform traditional style dances, see a real koala (koala cuddle photo optional) and other Australian native animals, hand feed a wallaby and experience the tropical rainforest from a totally unique perspective aboard an amphibious World War II Army Duck.
A transfer back to the Kuranda Village will have you boarding the Skyrail gondola for your 7.5km journey over pristine rainforest. At the base of the Skyrail cableway you will be picked up to be transferred back to your accommodation.
After being collected from your Cairns accommodation and transferred to the train station you will begin your day tour on the Kuranda Train and Scenic Railway at 8:50am.
Winding through tunnels and over bridges on this magnificent journey, passing Stoney Creek and Barron Falls you will see some beautiful scenery.
Your Driver Guide will meet you at Kuranda Train and Railway Station for your arrival at 10.25am and direct you to your coach which will transfer you to the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in Kurnada Village for your 11am tour.
Marvel at the largest butterfly flight aviary in the country, with a guided tour through the landscaped gardens. View hundreds of butterflies including the famous electric Blue Ulysses and Australia’s largest butterfly, the Cairns Birdwing.
You will have 15 minutes to wander through the picturesque Kuranda Village in the Rainforest, Markets operate daily.
At 11.45am you will be met outside the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary for your transfer to the Rainforestation Nature Park to experience the following:
At 3.45pm you will transfer to the Kuranda Train and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Terminal for your 4pm boarding.
The 7.5km Skyrail journey will see you gliding just metres above the rainforest canopy in comfortable six-person gondola cabins, the Skyrail journey immerses you in an intimate rainforest experience where you’ll see, hear, smell and become part of the tropical rainforest environment.
Your coach will be at the Carvonica Skyrail Gondola Terminal to transfer you to your Cairns holiday accommodation.
