Hervey Bay affectionately known as the Whale Watch Capital of Australia, is the only place on the Eastern seaboard where humpback whales take a break from their annual migration north and south to play and rest in the warm, sheltered waters.

The humpback whales from Antarctica begin to arrive in Hervey Bay from mid-June/July and remain until the end of October/beginning of November before heading south back to the summer in the Antarctic waters to chase Krill.

Our premium, award-winning half-day Hervey Bay whale watch cruises operate from July to October, and is the ultimate way to witness the majestic whales at play during their migratory stopover in the calm waters off Hervey Bay.

You’ll also have the chance to spot dolphins, sea turtles, fish and the endangered dugong and even hear the whales sing underwater on our hydrophones! Make sure you bring some tissues as listening to these whales singing to each other really bring a tear to your eyes, it’s a life changing experience for sure.

Our Hervey Bay whale watching tours were launched in 2010, our up-market, fast boat is purpose-built for whale and dolphin watching and crewed by whale and dolphin watching specialists.

With low passenger numbers of only 12 to 70 guests, extra wide decks and multi-level viewing, there’s plenty of room to move and numerous vantage points to interact with the whales, who often come within metres of the boat.

The Extended Morning Whale Watch will get you out on the Bay and interacting with the whales before the other boats, but still back in time to be able to make use of your afternoon.
