With our friendly white water rafting river guides, you’ll float on a high quality tubes, past shady water holes, flowing streams and crystal rapids.
You’ll begin your Cairns tour with a courtesy pick up from your holiday accommodation to the tubing headquarters, where you can be suited up with river shoes (in case you don’t want your own getting wet!) and waterproof jackets for the cooler months.
There will be a presentation on safety and some tips on how to enrich your white water river tubing experience.
You’ll find there’s no reason for nerves; your friendly rafting instructors are hand-picked professionals and all are certified with the International White Water Rafting Federation.
You’ll then venture south of Cairns city, coasting past lush jungle and majestic peaks such as Mount Bartle Frere; Queensland’s highest mountain!
Venturing within the Woonoorooran National Park, you’ll arrive at the shores of the Mulgrave River.
After one last safety check, it will be time to jump in and glide across crystal clear streams and bubbling white water rapids.
After a complementary pick up from your Cairns accommodation, you’ll be taken to the white water river tubing headquarters for a safety river presentation.
Your friendly guides are experts on the white water rapids that await you, and will share a few safety tips, some skills to enhance your tube rafting experience, and impart with some exciting facts about the rainforest that is surrounding the rapids.
In case you don’t want to get your shoes wet, you’ll have the opportunity to hire a pair of river shoes, along with waterproof jackets.

Once you’ve left the white water rafting tubing station, you’ll coast by air conditioned bus down an eye-catching highway.

You’ll journey south of the Cairns city toward the world heritage listed Wet Tropics of Woonoorooran National Park.
This huge and lavish natural sanctuary is not only home to your Mulgrave River experience, but likewise a haven for rare flora and fauna, with some species only found in these parts worldwide!
In a picturesque domain of mesmerizing swimming holes, glistening waterfalls, lush valleys and beautiful lowland rainforest, you’ll find the surrounding backdrop just as magical as meandering along the stunning stream of your river expedition!
At this point of the tour, you’ll know about some of the fascinating sights you’re likely to see, and what you can expect on your captivating river voyage.
The category 1-2 white water rapids you’ll experience today are graded for waves less than 1m, and straightforward river drifting without obstacles.
The path of the stream will be well defined, with clear chutes and gradual bends. You’ll glide lazily along friendly currents at various points, but that’s not to say you won’t experience your fair share of excitement!
Grade 2 rapids likewise encompass some low ledges to descend from, and sparkling down-rush from granite stream boulders for you to preside over.
As you embark on nature’s own invigorating theme park, bear in mind the habitat its set amongst the oldest rainforest on the planet, with a mesmerizing appearance of wildlife and flora.
The Wet Tropics contains a breathtaking multitude of plant species that adorn the river banks.
With this jungle as host to 40% of bird species, 60% of butterflies found in the country, and 20% of Australia’s reptiles, you could very well encounter an electric-blue Ulysses or amusing rainbow lorikeet.
Keep your eyes peeled as you meander on the smooth stream, there could be a cute turtle beneath your feet!
