You’ll  have the opportunity for bush walks, sailing, swimming, snorkelling, sunbaking, beach hopping, and diverse wildlife spotting of native Australian animals in the islands.

Sail the calm, pristine waters of the Great Barrier Reef, enjoy exclusive, protected anchorages and discover world famous Whitehaven Beach with its 7 kilometres of almost pure white silica sand.

What to bring sailing

As you will be on a sailing boat it’s always best to pack as lightly as possible for storage purposes, so we suggest you will only need the following:

• A day bag for beach visits and bush walks
• Clothing for the duration of the tour
• A long sleeve top and long trousers/pants for cooler evenings 
• Toiletries
• A beach towel, although one will be provided
• Swimmers
• Hat and sunglasses
• A book, music player or tablet (there are power points available onboard)

*Please note: Child-sized equipment such as wetsuits, snorkelling gear or life jackets are not supplied. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure these are obtained prior to charter and brought onboard for departure. 

Example Whitsundays Sailing 3-Day, 3-Night Private Charter Boat Itinerary

Departing : Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 3.00pm

Returning :  12.00pm on day of return

Day 1 - Check in at our Office: Shop 1, 4 The Esplanade Airlie Beach.

Check-in no later than 12.00pm.

After check-in, guests are welcome to leave their luggage in our office. Guests may then explore Airlie Beach, grab a bite to each or enjoy a walk along the beach.  

Meet at Abel Point Marina at 2.40pm.  

Depart the marina at 3.00pm and sail to our first night’s overnight anchorage on the magnificent Great Barrier Reef.

Enjoy sunset nibbles and a drink before dinner is served around 7.00pm.

Day 2 - After a delicious breakfast, we make our way to Tongue Bay for a guided bush walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout - a spectacular lookout overlooking Whitehaven Beach. 

Back on board, enjoy a sumptuous lunch before heading to Whitehaven Beach. Take a swim or snorkel the magnificent fringing reef before we set sail and head north along the eastern side of Hook Island. Overnight we anchor in one of the many bays on Hook Island.

Day 3  - After a yummy breakfast, enjoy a swim or snorkel amongst the teeming marine life of the Great Barrier Reef.

Time for a gourmet lunch, before we set sail to another anchorage for a second snorkel, swim or simply relax at the beach.

Enjoy an incredible sunset as we sail to this evening’s anchorage in Blue Pearl Bay off Hayman Island or in the Langford Reef Area.

Day 4 - After a delicious breakfast, snorkel or take a refreshing swim before we reluctantly set sail and make our way back to Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach, arriving at around 12.00 pm.  

What’s on the menu?

Our Whitsundays private charter boat tour includes all meals. The gourmet fare is made from locally sourced ingredients and freshly prepared onboard by your host. Kids and grand/parents alike will love the mouth-watering desserts and range of exotic salads and gourmet meats cooked to your liking, to name just a few.

Please advise with advance notice special diets at time of booking.

We don’t serve alcohol onboard so please bring your own alcoholic beverages - preferably no glass, with the exception of wine and champagne.

On Arrival: Tropical/seasonal fruit selection pineapple, rock melon, mango and kiwi fruit

Sunset snacks: Fine dips accompanied by crispy strip vegetables and savoury crudités

Dinner: Flamed Tuscan chicken served with a fresh Greek salad, lashings of Feta, sun-dried tomatoes and olives. Accompanied with oven baked crisp dinner rolls

Dessert: Cheesecake with berries and cream

Day Two

Breakfast: Fresh fruit platter, Swiss muesli, cereals, warm croissants and banana bread

Morning Tea: Individual French pastries

Lunch: A superb smorgasbord of champagne leg ham, Waldorf salad, spinach and pine nut salad, traditional Greek salad with wholegrain and scotch rolls

Afternoon Tea: Delicious fudge cookies with tea/coffee and hot chocolate

Sunset Snack: Antipasto platter

Dinner: Rib fillet topped with a delicious red wine mushroom gravy, served with potato gratin and steamed seasonal vegetables, accompanied by cheese and herb ciabatta bread
