Itinerary

Maxi Whitsundays Adventure

Australian yachting legend Hammer offers an amazing sailing adventure.

Leaving from Airlie Beach’s Abell Point Marina, the spectacular Whitsunday Islands’ iconic spots are revealed over two full days and a night aboard this 75-foot maxi, renowned for five consecutive placings in the world-famous Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

Covering around 160km, the Hammer maxi yacht visits many of the Whitsundays’ iconic destinations.

These include crossing the Whitsunday Passage, going around the southern side of Hook Island and sailing right up into a picturesque vista, the narrow, fjord-like and heavily wooded Nara Inlet.

Passing through Hook Passage, heading to the north-east of Whitsunday Island, passengers land at stunning Whitehaven Beach to take in more picturesque views from lookouts.

Mantaray Bay is great for snorkelling as is Blue Pearl Bay’s coral beach on Hayman Island before passing North Molle Island on the return to Abell Point Marina at Airlie Beach.

Though the itinerary may vary, beautiful scenery and beaches are always very much a part of the journey.

Swim the Whitsundays’ sparkling clear water and view pristine white beaches.

At Whitehaven Beach, be guided on a bush walk to one of Australia’s most photographed vistas at Hill Inlet Lookout.

Keep those cameras handy as from beaches, at a variety of snorkelling and dive spots as well as observing from the boat, diverse Australian marine life to be seen (some seasonal) includes whales, manta rays, lemon sharks, sting rays, soldier crabs, lots of fish, many turtles and dolphins, the latter being spotted often at night.
