One of our friendly staff members will meet you near or at your accommodation house in Airlie Beach in our coach.

During your comfortable 30 minute drive to the Proserpine Airport you will be asked to check-in and watch a safety video on iPad.

Upon arrival to our Seaplane flight terminal in Proserpine you will be provided with a lycra sun suit to wear in the water whilst snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.

Seaplane Flight From Whitsunday Coast Airport

As our Seaplane aircraft are amphibious you will take off on the airport runway and then commence your scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef to the world famous Whitehaven Beach.

Take in the sights of Conway National Park, Long Island, Hamilton Island and the Whitsunday Passage before flying to Whitsunday Island.

As you approach Whitehaven Beach you will start to see the stunning swirling sands of Hill Inlet.

Your Seaplane pilot will perform aerial work atop of Hill Inlet to capture that picture perfect postcard shot before touching down on the aquamarine waters of Whitehaven Beach for a relaxing one hour visit.

All Seaplane tours to this exclusively private lagoon are scheduled around low tide; being surrounded by a reef wall it creates a suspended coral lagoon for the Seaplane to land.

Our guests are able to take advantage of snorkeling, while rejuvenating in the refreshing waters amongst ancient coral gardens teeming with vibrant colourful marine life.

During low tide our location is only 2-6 metres deep providing the first time snorkeller with more confidence due to the comfortable conditions, while the more experienced can enjoy the abundance of sea life and coral that the added protection of the reef wall has provided.

Depart the Great Barrier Reef

Say goodbye to our private lagoon as your Seaplane takes off again from the calm waters of Hardy Lagoon and commence the flight back to the Proserpine airport.

On the return flight you get to take in more views of the Great Barrier Reef along with Hayman Island, Hook Island, the Molle group of islands and beautiful Airlie Beach.

Seaplane lands at Whitsunday Coast Airport and guests are returned to their Airlie Beach accommodation.

• Window seats cannot be guaranteed “due to weight and balance of the aircraft, the pilot will allocate your seats”
• Tour duration listed is approximate and may vary depending on aircraft type, weather conditions and if any island or yacht pick-ups are included in the schedule.

• Children 3-12 years old occupy their own seats.
• Infants under the age of 3 years sit on the parents lap free of charge.

• All reservations cancelled within 48 hours of departure will result in a 100% cancellation fee that will be charged to the supplied credit card.
• If passengers elect not to travel due to weather conditions but flights are still operational and deemed safe to fly, 100% cancellation fee will apply.
• The pilot makes a weather decision at the most accurate time of the day of flight, if the conditions are deemed unsafe and unsuitable for flying then all flights will be cancelled – at no charge
• Reconfirmation is required 24 hours prior to departure by calling the operator direct between the hours of 0700hrs and 1930hrs.
• Failure to reconfirm your tour or failure to advise Air Whitsunday Seaplanes of other tours, plans or travels you may have on the day of your tour may affect your tour.
• We do not recommend booking other tours on the same day due to possible schedule changes
• Each passenger must be ready at the departure point at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled flight times otherwise the carrier may forfeit the passenger’s seat allocation and reallocate the same and the carrier shall be under no liability whatsoever to the passengers in respect of such forfeiture and reallocation.
