On Sunday, 28 October, as the sun rises over the horizon, runners will be taking off on what is lauded as one of the most beautiful courses on the Australian running calendar.
Taking participants from the sands of Port Douglas’ Four Mile Beach, past sugar cane fields, and along bush trails, it’s a genuine showcase of the area’s natural beauty.
From the challenging 42.2km Steve Moneghetti Adventure Marathon to the 2.3km STAR FM Junior Challenge, there are a range of distances to choose from.
And the best part? Recuperating in paradise!
Start times vary, according to the race, with the marathoners starting at 5.30am, followed by the gun firing for the half-marathon at 6.30am, and so on.
