Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim

What better location for an ocean swim race? Taking place in the crystal clear waters of Australia’s iconic Whitehaven Beach, the Fujifilm Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim is one of the most popular sporting events in the region.

The swim is a part of the Great Australian Swim Series and takes place every year in November.

There are two swims to choose from including a 750-metre swim and a 2km swim (13 yrs & over), as well as a 350m swim for the Juniors (5-12 years).

The event is suited to swimmers of all levels and is gaining more and more popularity every year.

Competition entry includes a race kit, event shirt and return transfers from the Port of Airlie or Hamilton Island.

Located on Whitsunday Island, Whitehaven Beach provides the perfect setting for a competitive or leisurely swim, boasting pure white silica sands and crystal clear blue waters.

Spectators are also welcome with boat transfer package available.

  • Online entries close Tuesday 13 November at 5.00pm EDT. Race entries will be capped for this event. Should the quota not be reached then entries will be accepted up to and including race day.
  • Competitors in the 2km and 750m swim must be a minimum of 13 years old as at 31 December 2018.
