We offer you a fantastic day out on the waters of Hervey Bay, Queensland to see the amazing humpback whales in their natural environment.
During whale season, our premium whale watching package includes morning & afternoon tea and a delicious tropical buffet lunch so you don’t have to worry about a thing!
We will also provide an information session on our way out so you can fully appreciate these amazing creatures.
Our vessel is a stable and comfortable 60ft catamaran (previously owned by world renowned documentary producer Ben Cropp) with 360 degree whale viewing on all 3 levels plus a water level viewing area to get you as close to these magnificent creatures as possible.

Your vessel for the day
Your vessel for the day is a spacious & versatile catamaran used for various activities including whale watching, cruises, private charters and dive trips and has a proud history, being previously owned by renowned documentary film producer Ben Cropp.
After a arduous 3 month renovation, we were ready to take on its first season as Hervey Bay’s luxury three quarter day whale watching vessel.
Some interesting facts about include:
- The vessel is 60ft (17.7m) in length
- Built in 1990 in Innisfail, Queensland, Australia
- Powered by 2 x 280hp Fiat Iveco motors (installed 2010)
- 3 toilets (2 marine & 1 household) & shower facilities
- Large saloon area with comfortable couches & dining table
- Numerous fridges and freezers
- Licensed for up to 46 people in the Bay area
- Hydraulic lift platform
- Cruising speed of 14-18 knots
- 3 x 360 degree viewing levels
- Full galley including microwave, gas cooktop & oven
- Flat screen TV with DVD player
- Fully licensed bar
- Currently in 2B (8 people 200 miles offshore) & 2C (20 people 50 miles offshore) survey
Itinerary
Your Day
8.30am - Complimentary transfers from your Hervey Bay accommodation to the Sandy Straits Marina
9.00am - Depart Sandy Strait Marina
10.30am - Morning tea is served en-route to Platypus Bay where we will see the whales play * Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate & home baked treats
12.30 - 1.30pm - Scrumptious tropical buffet is served for you to enjoy in our comfortable eating area or on deck where you can enjoy the sunshine & beautiful waters of the Great Sandy Straits Marine Park * Complimentary lunch includes hot chicken pieces, cold deli meats, salads, bread rolls, dessert & drinks
2.30pm - Afternoon tea is served on our way back to the Marina * Complimentary Australian cheese & fruit platter as well as tea, coffee & hot chocolate
3.30pm - Arrive back at the Great Sandy Straits Marina where you can board our complimentary transfer back to your Hervey Bay accommodation

Whale sightings are not guaranteed as this is a wild-animal experience. If weather prevents safe operation, a full refund or rebooking is offered. Guests must manage 5 steps with a handrail unassisted. Vessel is not wheelchair, walking-frame or pram accessible. Children must be supervised at all times.

Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses with strap, light jacket, non-slip shoes, camera/phone with strap. Take seasickness tablets before departure if needed. Wear red - the whales love it!

All cancellations must be in writing.
We understand things may change, so we have made cancellations very easy.
In every instance we always recommend you purchase travel insurance for life’s last-minute hiccups.

Additional Tour Operator's T&Cs
- Tours are dependant on suitable weather conditions. If we cancel due to bad weather we will try to rebook at a time suitable to passengers or a full refund is given-less the booking fee if charged. If you are sick please stay home. We are happy to reschedule or put your booking on hold. If rescheduling is not possible we will refund the tour cost less the booking fee.
- If passengers cancel more than 48 hours out from travel date a full refund will be given, less the online booking fee.
- If cancelled under 2 days to 24 hours 30% fee is charged.
- If less than 24 hours no refund is given.
