Where does the charter depart from

Charters depart from Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach. Some charter durations may also be available from Hamilton Island depending on availability and conditions.

What charter durations are available

  • Charters operate in 4, 6 or 8-hour formats.
  • The 4-hour express charter is available from Hamilton Island only.
  • The 6-hour and 8-hour charters operate from Airlie Beach and may also be arranged from Hamilton Island.

How many beach stops and snorkelling stops can we expect

  • This depends on sea conditions and how long your group chooses to spend at each location, but as a practical guide:
  • A 4-hour charter typically allows for one beach stop and one snorkelling or swim stop.
  • A 6-hour charter typically allows for one beach stop and two snorkelling locations.
  • An 8-hour charter typically allows for two beach stops and two snorkelling locations.
  • Your skipper will confirm what is achievable on the day.

Can we visit Whitehaven Beach

  • Yes. Whitehaven Beach is a common request and can be included when conditions allow. If Whitehaven Beach is a priority, this must be requested at the time of booking so the itinerary is planned accordingly.

Are snorkelling gear and flotation devices included

  • Yes. Snorkelling equipment and flotation devices are included.

Do we need snorkelling experience

  • No prior snorkelling experience is required. The crew will assist with equipment and basic guidance, making this suitable for first-time snorkellers as well as confident swimmers.

What water activities are included

  • Depending on conditions, activities may include snorkelling, swimming, stand-up paddleboarding and sea scooters. Availability is subject to weather and sea state.

Is there a toilet on board

  • Yes. The vessel is equipped with a restroom.

Is this charter suitable for people prone to seasickness

  • This is a high-performance power boat. Guests prone to motion sickness should bring appropriate medication and advise at booking so the skipper can plan a more sheltered route where possible.

Is this charter suitable for pregnant guests

  • This charter may not be suitable for pregnant guests due to variable sea conditions and vessel speed. Pregnant guests must advise at booking so suitability can be assessed.

Is this charter suitable for guests with back, neck or joint injuries

  • This charter may not be suitable for guests with back, neck or joint injuries or those sensitive to impact in choppy conditions. Guests should advise at booking so alternative options can be discussed.

Is this charter wheelchair accessible

  • No. Due to boarding access and vessel layout, this charter is not wheelchair accessible.

Can cruise ship passengers book this charter

  • In many cases yes, depending on ship arrival and departure times. Cruise ship guests should provide ship details at booking so timing can be assessed.

Can we bring our own food and drinks

  • Yes. You may bring your own food and beverages, or choose a catering package during the booking process.

Are catering upgrades available

What happens if the weather is unsuitable

  • Routes and stop locations may change to remain in protected waters. If conditions are unsafe, the operator may reschedule or cancel.

Will we see marine life

  • Marine life sightings vary daily. Reef fish and coral are commonly seen. During winter months, whale sightings are possible but never guaranteed.

We recommend passengers take out travel insurance at all times.

  • Pack as if you were going to the beach, don't forget hat, sunscreen, beach towels, light jacket for the winter and fast boat ride
  • BYO Alcohol Permitted, we just ask to limit glass on board (with wine/champagne bottles acceptable, and plastic wine glasses provided)

  • Children are to be supervised by parents at all times
  • Children should be able to swim

Additional Tour Operator's T&Cs

  1. Passengers must check-in and are ready to board the vessel at least 15 minutes prior to the departure time. Freedom Exclusive Charters reserve the right to reassign seats if customers do not arrive by this time.
  2.  Any person who may be pregnant, suffer from back, neck or heart conditions, or have conditions that may cause a risk to their health, must notify Freedom Exclusive Charters or the Master of their vessel before departure.
  3. Prior to departure for snorkelling or other activities, all Adult passengers may be required to sign an Assumption of Risk Form. Minors require a parent or guardian to sign this form prior to departure. This Assumption of Risk Form is part of our terms and conditions of passage.
  4. Passengers agree to disclose any pre-existing medical condition or any other condition that may cause the passenger to suffer injury or aggravate a pre-existing medical condition during the transfer or charter.
  5. Freedom Exclusive Charters reserve the right to alter the price, departure time, departure point when required.
  6. In the event that Freedom Exclusive Charters needs to cancel a transfer or charter due to inclement weather or for any other reason, rescheduling options (subject to availability) will be made available and in the event, no options are available a refund will be issued.
  7. Cancellations by Charterer Cancellations outside of 14 days of departure date will incur a 20% cancellation fee of the total charter fee. Cancellations between 48 hours and 14 days from departure time will incur a 50% cancellation fee of the total charter fee. Cancellations within 48 hours of departure time will incur a 100% cancellation fee of the total charter fee. Please note: Tours operate in all weather conditions and will not be cancelled due to rain or overcast skies. Cancellations will only occur in the event of weather deemed unsafe or dangerous by Freedom Exclusive Charters.
  8. Freedom Exclusive Charters are not liable for any loss due to delays caused by unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to inclement weather, marine incidents or breakdowns.
  9. Freedom Exclusive Charters recommends passengers take out travel insurance.
  10. Passengers must adhere to the directions given by the Master at all times.
  11. Passengers agree to indemnify us against any and all claims arising from their participation in the transfer or charter, including any and all claims for injury, damage or loss.
  12. Freedom Exclusive Charters reserve the right to refuse transfers or charters to passengers for whatever reason.
  13. Passengers may be filmed/photographed during their transfer or charter. Freedom Exclusive Charters reserve the right to use or reproduce any film/photos for any purpose without notification, compensation or payment.
  14. All bookings must be paid in full prior to the booking date.
  15. Freedom Exclusive Charters reserve the right to refuse service to those who are believed to be affected by alcohol or drugs and no refund will be provided.
  16. Refund Policy No refunds within 48 hours of departure unless the Operator cancels the activity due to waterway, or weather conditions, insufficient reservations or any other unforeseen event or circumstances. Otherwise, refunds are granted solely at the discretion of the Agent according to the Operator’s cancellation policy. Where there is a ‘no show’ without prior notification or cancellation in the required time are not eligible for a refund. Refunds may only be obtained from the Booking Agent. Note no transaction fee is refundable. Refunds are available for cancellations outside 48hrs for bookings made directly with Freedom Exclusive Charters.
