What to Expect
Set sail on a private two-hour sunset cruise from Cairns, designed for small groups, friends, colleagues, or families who want to unwind on the water in true Tropical North Queensland style.
Departing from the Cairns Marlin Marinaat 4.30pm (please be there earlier to ensure a 4.30pm departure sharp), your private charter yacht will glide across calm waters as the day fades into evening. Watch the skyline and surrounding mountains transform with the colours of sunset—brilliant oranges, soft pinks, and deep purples mirrored across the Coral Sea.
Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages and nibles in a small cooler bag or esky, enjoying relaxed conversation and laughter as the crew manages every detail. Those keen to get hands-on can join the skipper in hoisting the sails and learning a little about sailing techniques and the art of setting the sheets.
With only a maximum of 10 guests on board, this private Cairns sunset sail ensures a peaceful and personalised experience. Although the yacht is licensed for up to 22 passengers, smaller numbers guarantee comfort, space, and a truly intimate atmosphere—perfect for celebrations, team gatherings, or simply appreciating a magical North Queensland sunset at sea.

Assumption of Risk: I, we understand and acknowledge that participating in activities aboard the charter boat involves inherent risks, including but not limited to those associated with water activities, weather conditions, and marine life encounters. I, we, voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and agree that Big Mama Sailing, its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur as a result of my participation.
2. Physical Health and Abilities: I, we, certify that are physically fit and able to participate in the activities offered aboard the charter boat. I, we understand that it is our responsibility to inform the crew of any medical conditions, disabilities, or limitations that may affect my ability to participate safely.
3. Safety Regulations: I, we, agree to abide by all safety regulations and instructions provided by the crew of the charter boat. I, we understand that failure to comply with these regulations may result in my removal from the boat without refund.
4. Release of Liability: In consideration of being permitted to board and participate in activities aboard the charter boat, I, we hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Big Mama Sailing, its owners, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me while participating in activities aboard the charter boat.
5. Indemnification: I, we agree to indemnify and hold harmless Big Mama Sailing, its owners, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses, including attorney fees, arising out of or related to my participation in activities aboard the charter boat.
6. Photography and Media Release: I, we, consent to the use of any photographs, videos, or other media taken of me during my participation in activities aboard the charter boat for promotional purposes without compensation.
I, we have read this waiver and release of liability in its entirety and fully understand its terms. Guests sailing with any under 18-year-olds, will take responsibility on their behalf.
I, we, voluntarily agree to be bound by its terms and acknowledge that I am waiving certain legal rights.
